“Such a fucking cunt. Can you walk?” I ask her.
She makes some garbled noise, and I decide that means no. I pick her up and carry her bridal style to the car.
Wiping her face, she grimaces. “So embarrassing.”
“You’re fine. You’re pushing yourself too hard. Do you need to go to the doctor?”
“No, I’ll be fine after I get some sleep,” she says as she nestles her head against my chest. I know she’s kinda gross and throw-upy right now, but the feel of her small body against mine brings me pleasure.
A rumble starts in my chest, and I quickly cut that shit out.Jesus.You get an Omega in your arms one time and you start to fucking purr.Shut it down, man.
She’s my famous client and, in no way, a girl like Cami is just settling down with a single Alpha— Let alone a bodyguard. I have nothing to offer her as an Omega of her status. She seems like the type that will have a harem feeding her grapes and rubbing her feet and shit. Plus, I don’t think she even really likes me.
“You’re so big,” she whispers.
“Uh, thanks?”
“Like really big, like Shrek,” she says.
“Did you just call me Shrek?” I ask.
“Yeah, but like in a hot way, like when he was human for a few days,” she says.
“I think you’re fucking delirious.”
“Maybe, but you’re still big.”
“Does that make you Donkey then?”
“Only if you’ll get me waffles tomorrow?”
“Sure.” I laugh, and she doesn’t reply. I realize that she’s passed out against my shoulder.
When I get outside, Franklin opens the car door and I place her in the seat next to me. Her head immediately flops onto my shoulder after I buckle her in.
“Hey, Franklin?”
“Yeah, man.”
“How do you feel about Garth?”
“He’s a piece of shit. I’ve told her to fire him, but she thinks she owes him. He’s like a goddamn cockroach.”
“Why does she think she owes him?”
“He discovered her at some carnival talent show by her house. Said if he wouldn’t have found her, she would have never been discovered.”
I make a groaning noise.
“She’s terrible about sticking up for herself,” he tells me. “I’ve never met somebody who wants everyone else to be happy more than she does. She would give a stranger the shirt off her back and shoes off her feet if they needed them. She doesn’t deserve this.”
“Yeah, I can see that.”
“What do we have left? Chicago, Detroit, New York, DC, Charlotte, then Atlanta?” he asks.
“Yeah, I can’t wait for this shit to be over. Are you coming to New York with us after?”
“Of course, been driving Cami for years now. Best job I’ve ever had. She’s great about giving me time to see my son.”
