Chapter 1

N’kal

Myn’rilvibrated with excitement as my ship approached Earth. Dodging the Xalanite military draft was a dangerous move, but I couldn’t wait out my fifteen cycles of service before visiting the new planet. Xalanite men were finding mates left and right in this new world, exotic Earth women with two teats and smooth, pale skin. Just the thought of finding a mate like that was enough to stir my loins.

A Xalanite-friendly landing site had been arranged in a place called Upstate New York. Setting the navigation controls to automatic, I sat back in my chair and stroked my lowern’ril, letting thoughts of Earth women cross my mind.

Communications between Xalan and Earth, now wide open, allowed me to see what Earth women were capable of in terms of mating. Their mating programs were popular among Xalanite men in particular, and I was no different. I loved seeing the ingenuity of Earth women. Xalanite women, though they have more teats, were woefully timid mates. Loving, sure, but timid. They didn’t perform the Earth tradition of Blow Jobs or use positions like Cowgirl and Doggy. They didn’t take advantage of the availability of the new toys and devices imported from Earth.

The Earth term was Vanilla, though I didn’t quite get the reference.

Trying to get more comfortable, I set my foot up on the console and slouched down in my chair, spreading my legs. I closed my eyes and pictured an Earth woman on her knees in front of me, naked, with long hair and perfect teats. She opened her pink mouth, her tongue so wet and glistening and ready to taste myn’ril…

In the periphery of my awareness, an alarm blared, distracting me. I grunted and kicked the console with my foot, hoping to silence it. Rather than stop, though, the screeching grew louder.

I opened my eyes just in time to see the Earth come barreling towards me on the viewscreen.

When the smoke cleared, I stuffed myn’rilback in my clothing and worked my way through the wreckage to the exit ramp. The controls jammed, and I had to punch the panel to get the ramp to deploy.

The ship did not appear to be in the proper location. From what I’d heard, the landing site was located in a mountain range, not a … what’s the word? Stadium.

A ring of Earth men dressed in black uniforms surrounded the ship, along with a balding Earth man in regular clothes and a small Earth woman. The bald man and the woman had devices trained on me that looked similar to the Xalanite nanite guns. I held up my hands as I’d seen done on Earth programs and grinned.

“You do not need to fire,” I said in perfect Earthite. “As you can see, I have already had my nanites programmed with your language.”

The woman and the bald man exchanged glances before turning their attention back to me. She spoke first, her voice clear and commanding. I liked the sound of it.

“Don’t move!” she said. “I’m Detective Millwood with the Chicago Police Department, and this is my partner, Detective Smith. You’re not authorized to land here.”

Detective Millwood with the Chicago Police Department was quite fetching. She had reddish hair that fell to her shoulders, clear green eyes, and smooth, creamy skin. Though her clothing hid her teats, an Earth custom I learned about from my friend Q’on’s mate Amber, it was form-fitting enough for me to see that they were nice teats. Not as plentiful as those on Xalanite women, but I supposed two teats were more than enough. Something about the silhouette of her hips made myn’rilrise again, and I had to concentrate to get them to behave.

“This is not Upstate New York?” I asked, tilting my head to the side in a gesture common to both species. “I had set my navigation for the Xalanite landing site, but I see no other Xalanites here.”

The woman’s eyes rolled in their sockets. “You landed in the middle of Wrigley Field!”

“Is that close to New York?”

“You’re a few hundred miles off, freak.” The bald man’s expression made me think of the sour Xalanite candies back home, juurna. It took a few seconds for the nanites to translate the term for this expression: a scowl.

I scratched the back of my head. “Apologies. How can I get transport to the Xalanite Welcome Center? I very much wish to start my trip here on Earth.”

The detective stepped forward, never lowering her device. “Where are your papers?”

Papers? Ah, yes! “I apologize again. I have no papers. I am not here on official Xalanite business. This is a, how do you say it? Pleasure trip.”

She cautiously lowered her weapon a few degrees. “Pleasure trip? You’re here on vacation?” The woman turned to the older man. “Have they cleared Xalanites for recreational visits yet? I thought it was all diplomatic envoys they were sending.”

“Oh! Let me clarify; I was not sent. I am here of my own accord.” I flashed my best, most charming smile. “I very much wish to find a mate here on Earth. You are pleasing to look at; would you like to mate with me?”

The weapon rose back to aim at my chest, and now the woman scowled. “I’m going to chalk that up to cultural differences, sir. Now please, step away from the ship. Until we can get an AARO official here to sort things out, I’m afraid I’ll have to place you under arrest for an illegal landing.”

Arrest? I was vaguely familiar with the term. I seemed to have broken some Earth law. I held my hands out in front of me with a shrug. “Very well.”

My awareness was so focused on the enticing young woman placing the curious flimsy metal bindings on my wrists that I didn’t notice the throngs of people in the stadium until they started jeering. My ears caught several shouted phrases, like “Let ‘im go!” and “He’s not hurting anyone!” and one voice shouting “I’ll take him home to mate if you won’t!” From what I understood, human ears could not differentiate individual sounds in such a cacophony. I wondered if the detective heard that last voice. If she did, she gave no outward indication as she ran her delicate hands over my body, she said to check for weapons. She took my bag ofkrin, much to my dismay. I needed that money if I was going to enjoy my stay.

I smiled up at the crowd and waved as much as the bindings would allow. “Do not worry!” I shouted back at them. “I am in no danger.”
