“I…um…could you give me like…ten minutes?”

“You want me to sit here for ten minutes?”

Cyrus cleared his throat. “You could…work, I suppose?”

Killian stared at the Fate, who was shaking, very pale, and starting to sweat. His fiancé was clearly freaked the fuck out, but at the same time… Well, he had never been the most patient person. “You’ve got five,” he said sweetly.

Intending to go back to work, he spun his chair towards the right floating screen, but no sooner had he turned, when Cyrus blurted, “Ender’s pregnant.”

Killian’s fingers froze above the holographic keyboard, his eyes widening more and more as the words fully registered in his brain. Slowly turning back towards the man, his own wide gaze meeting the Fate’s. “What did you just say?”

Soft…soft?! Why soft?Killian questioned, while shoving as much as he could into his luggage.

He frowned. It obviously had something to do with Ender, but what did he even know about Gorgon pregnancies?! Well, he knew that the species had a lot of complications, and that they were fucking rare nowadays, as there were hardly any left. So…nothing, Killian knew absolutely NOTHING!

He shoved one more thing into the bag he’d been filling, before flopping face first onto his bed, and letting out a scream.

“Oh, fuck…” he groaned. “Fuck, fuckity, fucking FUCK!”

Pregnant… Ender was pregnant with his and Cyrus’ children. A fine tremble started to make its way through him, his heart speeding up as past fears surged forward along with memories.Horrible memories, violent and bloody, of bodies being ripped apart by a process that, beyond belief, was supposed to be natural, even if it left so many destroyed and dead.

Flinching as visions of his mother surrounded by blood flickered in his head, the screams that were more than just hers playing on repeat, Killian flipped over onto his back.

Clutching at his chest as it constricted with his growing panic, he dragged in a wheezing breath, desperately trying to shove his terror back down.

“No. No, calm!” Killian gasped. “Calm the fuck down!” He took another struggling breath in and out. “Y-you don't have time for this, Killian. Cyrus is coming to pick you up in—” He checked his watch. “—forty minutes. Get it together!”

He clasped his hands together in an effort to stop the trembling, and tried to just focus on his breathing.

Hah…babies…two of them. He swallowed, choking as his fear gagged him. Coughing, he took a few more wheezing breaths, before managing to break free from the clawed grasp of his memories.

NO! NO—it was fine, this was different! He wasn't the one having them, so there…

There was nothing for him to fear… Aside from impending fatherhood, the fact that he, together with his fiancé, had impregnated another man, and that their baby daddy was running a very illegal rebel, or one might even say revolutionary, group, while they worked for a universal governing agency. The exact agency Ender hated, who also wanted to arrest and/or kill him.

Yep, nothing to fear, or worry about at all, he thought with a groan.

Once their bagswere packed and in his car, Cyrus sat in his driveway, waiting for…instructions? Well, an address. A text had come through, but it had disappeared as soon as he clicked off of it, emphasizing for his ass to sit and wait in his car, so that was what he was doing…waiting.

Cyrus rubbed his face with a groan. This path he was on seemed to have gone more and more out of whack from the moment he'd been shown Killian had been about to die. Cyrus supposed this was just another consequence from what he had done.

Killian living had now more than once led to some pretty drastic changes in the direction of not just their, but Ender's life…

Babies… How was this even going to work with their jobs, with who he was… Which, at this point, Cyrus supposed?—

He jumped at a knock on his window, and was both surprised and not when he found Severo standing there looking super fucking confused. Though, the man being there made him remember something.

Ah, fuck—he and Killian had just left work without saying a word to anyone. They couldn't just leave like this, even if he couldn’t share where they were going. Hewasthe damn boss. Not to mention, Killian was a director of a very important department… He… He had to call someone.

Shaking his head, and shoving aside that worry until a slightly later time in his imminent future, Cyrus opened his door and got out, awkwardly clearing his throat.

Severo eyed him silently for a moment, making Cyrus feel all sorts of awkward, before finally saying, “Have to say, I'm shockingly confused at the moment, so if you could fill in the blanks as to why I am about to hand over the exact location of Ender's compound to you, I would appreciate it.”

Cyrus took a deep breath. “The thing is…”

Severo stared, jaw slack, his left eye twitching, as his brain tried it's very best to rationalize all he had just fucking heard. It wasn't going well.

“You two did WHAT?!”
