“Need something?” Benji asked, smiling. “Oh, do you want to play with me? There is a multi-player mode!”
“Not really…I was wondering something…” Cecil trailed off and peered at Roth out of the corner of his eye.
Cecil’s words must have caught Roth’s attention, because the man’s game was paused and he was now looking at them with a knowing smirk.
“Yes?” Benji asked, his eyes bright.
Oh, he was like a puppy,Cecil thought. A big puppy, but a puppy nonetheless—this was going to be easy.
“Well, I was wondering what you liked about Roth?”
The controller fell from Benji’s hand and clattered to the floor. “W-what?” he sputtered.
“I mean, sure, he’s big…oh!” Cecil gasped dramatically, forming anOshape with his mouth. “Is that it? So he’s proportional? Well, I mean, someone that big wouldn’t have a teeny ween?—”
His words ended in a yelp when Benji tackled him and slapped both hands over Cecil’s mouth.
Roth burst out laughing. “Yer right about that, lad.”
“What are you saying?” Benji screeched, staring daggers as he sat on top of him.
He appreciated that Benji’s knees were taking the brunt of the weight. Damn, the man had more muscle than his clothes gave away. Benjiwassix foot, and Cecil did weigh, like, nothing, but still. It felt like he’d been tackled by a brick wall. He was going to have so many bruises. For some reason, arcadian skin, in its almost translucent glory, bruised easily.
“Oy, Benji, it’s nae nice to pick on someone smaller than ye,” Roth said, suddenly there plucking Benji off of him.
That sent Benji into a fury. “Let go of me, you giant idiot!” he yelled, struggling to break free.
Roth just laughed and put him over his shoulder, much like you would a sack of potatoes. They started arguing back and forth, and Cecil sat up to watch.
Benji was awkwardly yelling at Roth while on top of the man’s shoulder, every so often whacking him on the back. For the most part, Roth just laughed and continued to egg Benji on.
Yep, that was easy, Cecil thought with glee.
“Cecil!” growled a familiar voice.
Busted! Looking in the direction of said voice, Cecilwinced when he saw a very angry Sin standing in the doorway. The man’s arms were crossed and a vein was popping on his forehead.
“Come here. Now!” Sin snapped, before yelling, “Enough, you two!”
While Benji and Roth hadn’t heard Sin’s first angry growl, they definitely heard that. Roth set Benji down, and it was once again silent in the room.
Hesitantly, Cecil obeyed Sin’s order and walked over.
“Yes?” Cecil asked innocently.
Sin somehow managed to glare and raise an eyebrow at the same time. “You are coming with me,” the man said coolly, before glancing at the other two. “I better not find you two fighting when we get back.”
Roth and Benji mumbled in agreement.
With that, Sin marched toward the foyer. Cecil followed, because what else could he do?
Cecil shifted nervously in his new peacoat. He had been surprised when Sin had shoved it at him. Cecil shouldn’t have been, considering all the clothes they had given him already.
It was his first time leaving the mansion since he had arrived all those weeks ago, so it made sense that he hadn’t seen it before now.
Despite its high quality, the coat wasn’t doing much to keep him warm. Well, it probably was, however, Cecil still felt cold. But it wasn’t because of the snow falling outside the window. No, his chill was due to the freezing atmosphere in the car.
Sin hadn’t said a word or even looked at him once since they had gotten into the vehicle. The man was pissed.
