Oh, Severo did not like where this was going.

“Yes…” Severo answered hesitantly.

“Take them out. Slowly.”

Crap. Sighing, he slowly removed his cuffs from the left inside pocket of his jacket.

“Cuff yourself to one of the spokes of the radiator by the wall.”

He looked back and spotted with dread what appeared to be a brand-new radiator, looking pretty against the wall, right under the window. How nice of them to go with the vintage look…

Severo glanced at Seri. “Is this really necessary?”

“Just do it!”

Everyone at the office was going to have a field day. He would never hear the end of it. Severo just knew it.

He skulked over to the radiator and plopped down on the floor. Attaching one end to his left wrist, he attached the other to a spoke of a thankfully off radiator. The cuff on both sides tightened, fitting perfectly… Yay…

Severo faked a glare, doing his best to keep his thoughts off his face. Because as long as he had the key and his thumb…he could open them. He just had to wait until Seri turned his back.

Seri smiled. “Good, now take out the key and slide it to me.”

FUCK! Seri justHADto be smart, as well as pretty. Quickly removing the key from the zipped inner pocket of his jacket, he slid it across the hardwood floor.

Seri picked it up and slipped it into his pocket. “Okay, now your phone and gun.” Severo went to protest, but the Nymph cut him off. “Don’t worry, I’ll give it back right before I leave so you can call for help.”

“Fine…” Severo ground out, before pulling out his phone and sliding it towards Seri.

“And you gun?”

He grimaced. “I don’t have one…”

Seri stared for a moment, scanning his face, before finally lowering his gun. The Nymph picked up his phone before walking towards the door and kicking the scattered dysea his way.

Severo hissed when some of it hit his leg. It didn’t hurt…yet, but it would eventually cause a pretty bad skin irritation, even through his clothes.

The man shrugged. “Sorry, I know what your kind can do. Can’t be too careful.”

With that, the Nymph disappeared into the back of the apartment. Severo decided to stare at the wall, contemplating and regretting a few life choices. Like the time he lost the second key to his handcuffs, and had decided to not tell his boss because he didn’t want to get yelled at. Or the time Severo had decided to call out sick because he had stayed up until 5am to watch his favorite group perform at an award show, the very day they happened to be teaching agents how to break out of the handcuffs without a key.

Okay, maybe Severo didn’t regret watching the performance, as it had been fucking awesome. He more regretted not going to the make-up course afterward.

The baby strapped to his front now, Seri returned with a small rolling suitcase, and a mini bookbag on his back.

When the man walked to the door and scooped up all the grocery bags, not looking like he intended in the slightest to stop, Severo had a moment of panic. “Hey!”

“I’ll be back. I have to get my baby bag, don’t I?” With that, Seri disappeared out the door.

He eyed said baby bag. Surely, it would be fine…it shouldn’t even take too long. The man was only on the first floor. That was just a single set of four steps. After what felt like an eternity, Seri finally returned empty-handed, and with no baby.

He raised a brow at the Nymph. “Took you long enough.”

Seri shrugged. “The car seat is new.” The man grabbed his diaper bag and then reached into his pocket. Pulling out Severo’s cellphone, he gently slid it close enough for him to reach.

Seri chimed out, “Bye!” as he fled.

Shit. Severo stretched and snagged it. Releasing the screen, he dialed his boss’ number and waited.
