Tony growled. “Harlow, drop it. You are not on that case, and you will not be put on it. Stick to what we give you.”

“They fucking took Foxx,” Harlow roared. “Tell me what you fucking know before I start shooting up churches at random.”

“What?!”

“Yeah, that easy little hunt you sent us on was a trap,” he snarled. “By the way, I'm getting really fucking tired of walking into traps, Tony. I doubt these morons actually killed anyone, so whoever investigated them, I owe them a bullet. Now, tell me what you know!”

“Come in,” Tony said calmly.

“The fuck you say?! Come in?!” Harlow growled. “I don’t have time for this! Just tell me what you know!”

“For fuck’s sake, Harlow. Just come in. There is too much to say, and this is too big for you to go running around half-cocked on your own. Fucking come in!” Tony bellowed.

“FUCK!” Harlow roared, slamming his phone shut. He went to throw it when the leader of the wolves returned.

“They have set off. How far they’ll go, I don’t know.”

Harlow yanked on his hair in frustration. “I have to head in. Apparently, the Guild knows something.”

“I’ll call and let you know what we find. Speaking of, we did find this.” Santiago held up what he quickly realized was Foxx’s phone.

Frowning, he walked down the steps and grabbed it from the werewolf’s hand. He flipped it around, looking it over. The thing was busted. The screen was shattered, and there was a dent on the back, it was also coated with blood.

“It doesn’t work. I tried it but couldn’t get it to turn on.”

“Right… Call me.”

Santiago nodded.

Harlow walked past him, stopping when the wolf called out. “Hunter.”

He glanced back at the man, brow raised.

“Even if we aren’t able to track down the individuals, we still have their scents. It could be useful to figure out who knows something.”

Harlow grunted, “I’ll be in touch,” before taking off towards his Jeep.

Sephira hummed happily as she rolled out the sugar cookie dough with a rolling pin.

“Mom…isn’t that vampire supposed to be here by now?”

She glanced over to her son, and found she still felt the urge to tear up at him calling her mom. She wasn’t sure if she was just a sap, or if it was because it was still so new. The werewolf teen had only been with her for a few years, and him using ‘mom’ had started up about a month ago.

“Mom…” Sawyer snapped. “Mom, did you even hear what I asked?”

“Kid, every time you call her that, her brain malfunctions,” Tabitha, one of her closest friends and fellow coven member, said with a snicker, as she popped some cookies onto a tray beside Sephira. “You’ll have to give her a few more months for her brain to get with the program and function properly.”

The others there laughed, before their chattering continued onto other topics.

Sephira sent a quick glare the blonde’s way, before turning to her son. “Yes, I heard you.” She glanced up at the antique cuckoo clock on the wall, frowning at the time. “Foxxshouldbe here by now…”

Sephira gasped as the glass on the clock suddenly splintered. Her coven grew silent around the table.

Harlow stormed into the Guild, past the reception desk, not even stopping as Jerry called out. He did, however, stop and stare the minute he stepped into the back.

It was rare that Harlow ran into another hunter in the office. Even with there being the addition of paranormal partners, he still hardly ever saw anyone else here. But, at the moment, there had to be at least thirty hunters in the room. Many he knew for a fact didn’t work at this branch. One such pair being Iggy and Oceana. Harlow had honestly never seen so many hunters in one place. What the fuck was going on?
