Yeah, he supposed that was the pesky thing about not being approved by those human medical boards…the assholes.

“Right, no matter.” Foxx hummed before exclaiming with excitement, “Let’s be off! Let’s run about and have fun!

Harlow just shook his head as he stood. “We are just going out for lunch. Not much running around and fun to be had with that.”

“Yes, but it’s lunch outside of our apartment!” Foxx followed. “So that makes it an adventure!”

“Okay…” Harlow stared, expression blank.

Foxx sniffed. “So, where are we going?” he asked as they stepped out of the doctor’s office into the hallway. The Guild physician wasn’t located at the Guild, but was housed on the fifth floor in a large building in downtown Houndside Hazard, among a ton of other doctors and offices.

“JJ's Diner,” the human stated as he pushed the button for the lift.

“Again?” he asked, walking in when the doors opened. Harlow followed and pressed the button for the ground floor. Though it said first… Foxx would forever chalk that up to Americans being weird.

“Why not?”

“Don’t you like any other places?”

“No.”

Foxx glared at the man’s back as the lift stopped and the doors opened. Harlow, of course, walked off without another word.

Rolling his eyes, he caught up to him. “There is this new restaurant on tenth street that just opened called The End Zone. It’s supposed to be space themed. Well, murdery alien themed, but same difference. Let’s go there instead.”

“No.”

“Oh, come on!” Foxx said. “It will be fun.”

Harlow paused on reaching the door that would lead to the underground car park. The man stared at him silently for half a second, before saying, “No.”

“Harlow!” Foxx huffed as they stepped outside. “Bloody hell, it’s cold!” he whined, when a breeze whooshed into the car park from the nearby opening to the street.

Wrapping his arms around himself, he rushed to Harlow’s Jeep. “Open it. Open! Open!” He yanked on the handle of the front passenger side door.

“Brat.” Harlow chuckled.

At the sound of the lock disengaging, he pulled open the door and jumped in, quickly closing it to block the wind.

When Harlow slid in, Foxx prepared to fight for his alien themed dinner. He refused to go to JJ’s, where they no doubt had decorated for Christmas, with holiday music playing over the speakers—ugh. “They have pie there.”

“JJ's Diner has pie.”

“Yes, but they only have one pie there. Apple, that’s it. The End Zone has ten different pie choices, with one that happens to be called ‘cherry burst’. Which is…cherry pie, your favorite,” he chimed. “The pie looks vaguely human, and like something burst from its chest. Reviews say not only is it bloody but delicious.”

“I don’t need pie.” Harlow started the car without looking at him.

“But you want it,” Foxx drawled as he cranked up the heat.

The human slowly turned to him, eyes narrowed. “I don’t need pie.”

He smirked. “But you want it.”

Harlow sighed.

Harlow glancedaround at the restaurant. The End Zone was kept dimly lit, the floors a midnight blue color. The walls were shiny and had some kind of resin material that seemed to emulate space. Well…it did, besides the shiny neon line lights that lined the top. The tables, chairs, and booths were gray, the edges lined in blue lights. The style was very futuristic, very sy-fy, as the furniture all looked like it was a holograph, due to the bases being clear and lit from the bottom up.
