Foxx smirked as Harlow muttered, “Stupid…” behind him.
Glancing around, he spotted a few cameras, but due to where and how they were standing, none would actually capture what was about to happen.
Smile slipping from his face, Foxx cried out, thrusting his body backwards, falling to the ground. As he hit the floor, he burst into tears, letting out a pathetic wail. “Help! Help!”
Mind you, it did hurt. The jolt to his body aggravated pretty much all of his injuries…but it was worth it. He had to hold back his great satisfaction at the expression of abject horror that appeared on Prince Charming’s face as Foxx began to sob like the world was ending. His actions, of course, sent people running towards them.
Various paranormals—including some that were very muscular—were suddenly popping up all around, asking if he was okay, but he just kept crying. Foxx did his best to ignore the disgusted expression on Harlow’s face. He kept going until finally, someone with the wordstaffon their T-shirt pushed through the crowd and crouched down next to him.
“What’s wrong? Are you okay?” the large man asked, seemingly in a panic. Ohh, a minotaur in human form. Foxx hadn’t seen one of those in a long while.
“H-he…” Foxx sniffled exaggeratedly, before pointing at Prince Charming, and loudly crying, “HE PUSHED ME!”
“WHAT?!” Vail cried, jaw dropping, as those who’d been trying to see if Foxx was okay turned his way accusingly. “I didn’t push him!”
“He did,” Foxx sobbed. “Because…because I told him no. He w-wouldn’t leave me a-alone!”
The minotaur let out a deep snarl. “We do not allow harassment, intimidation, or any form of violence in this gym.”
“I didn’t do anything!” Vail defended.
Which wasn’t true. The bastard may not have pushed him, but he had certainly harassed him.
“The cameras will be the judge of that.” The staff member sniffed. “Until then.” He snapped his fingers and two large men, who were also minotaur’s, appeared beside Prince Charming and began to drag him away.
“BUT I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING?!” Vail screamed, as he struggled to get away.
Foxx just managed to hold back his smile as the minotaur turned to him with a soft, worried expression. “Come on, let’s get you up.”
Foxx let more fat tears roll down his face, and sniffled a little before nodding and saying, “O-okay…but please, be…g-gentle. I…I had surgery on my heart…a few days ago, so…”
The minotaur’s eyes widened. “Perhaps we should have a doctor check you out?”
Honestly, it may have been a good idea. Some things hurt more than they probably should after falling, but at the same time, he really didn’t want to.
“N-no… I just want to go home…” Foxx whimpered pathetically, staring wide eyed at the man.
“Of course…but please, let us take you. We’d feel horrible if something happened.”
“It’s fine, m-my roommate can help.”
“Are they here?”
Foxx nodded as he slowly stopped the waterworks and pointed to Harlow, who was standing there with a blank expression on his face.
* * *
Harlow stoodthere in the elevator on one side of Foxx, while the sucker from the gym followed them up to make sure the faker of a vampire got back to their apartment safely. He couldn’t believe what had just happened.
Harlow had realized Foxx was about to pull some shit, but he hadn’t quite been prepared for what had actually happened.
They all remained quiet until they reached the door of the apartment.
He just barely kept the disgust off his face when Foxx stared up at the other man with wide watery eyes and politely thanked him.
The minute the door was closed, Harlow said with full exasperation, “I can’t believe you just did that.”
Foxx giggled evilly. “Well, the asshole should have left me alone. I gave him multiple chances. If he’s smart, he’ll learn from this. If he’s not…” Foxx trailed off, his expression turning sadistic. “He’ll likely not live long. Hitting on other paranormals can be a deadly game. Especially when you don’t know when to quit.”
