“Are you two really doing a weird bonding thing right now?” Foxx snapped. “You know what, I don’t care. The high off their ass sextet changed someone else. I realized he had just been changed, and hadn’t killed anyone, so here we are. Take your baby werewolf and let us get the fuck out of here before I freeze my important parts off!”

“He is rather angry, for a cute pink teddy bear,” the redhead werewolf said with a chuckle. “Do you need a hug?” The others smirked in response.

These bastards could not beserious right now! Foxx just couldn’t believe these fucks.

“You!” he hissed, pointing up at the redhead. “Start keeping your trap shut, or I will rip your throat out.” He took a threatening step forward when the guy burst into laughter.

Harlow chuckled, and wrapped an arm around his waist, pulling him back as he said, “Sorry, my partner is a cranky teddy bear right now. He missed his nap.”

His gaze snapped up to Harlow. Oh, this fucker could be next! Just a pile of dead bodies! Blood everywhere! He’d bet Tony would even thank him!

“I’m thinking…you may not be any safer than us around him,” the middle wolf drawled with a brow raised.

Harlow threw his head back and laughed. “Can’t deny that.”

The audacity of these bastards. If he wasn’t so tired, he’d…

Foxx let out a frustrated hiss and yanked from the human’s hold. “Follow me!” he snapped, not looking back to see if they listened as he stormed off towards Harlow’s Jeep.

Holding back his urge to kick the vehicle, as he really didn’t want to break anything, he settled for yanking the door open—at human strength. Foxx spun around to find the wolves right behind him, Harlow back where they left him.

He glared up, stepping aside and waving towards the open door. The leader nodded towards the door, and the redheaded prick, who kept commenting on his outfit, jumped into action. Picking up the young passed out man, the wolf took off with him towards the black SUV.

The leader cleared his throat. “Thank you for not just killing him. My name is Santiago Florez.” The wolf pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket and held it out.

Frowning, Foxx took it, his brow raising when he realized there was a phone number on it.

“You are owed a favor from The West Gally Wolf Pack. If you ever have need assistance, don’t hesitate to call. Same goes for your partner.”

Foxx forced his irritation away. He knew most of it was just because he was tired anyway. He really didn’t care what they thought about his sunsuit, as long as he himself liked it. But, ugh, having no sleep sucked. “I joined the Hunters Guild to save lives. And to prove that we are more than the monsters some humans think we are. That we are no more evil than they are. Me doing the right thing…it’s no more than the bare minimum.”

Santiago smiled. “Yet, so few would see it that way. Most would think killing him would be the right thing to do. So, for sparing him, I owe you my thanks. Call if you are in need. As long as it is something that won’t harm us, we will help.”

Foxx nodded. “I’ll keep that in mind. Now…as for the pup. His current state is temporary. You have at most an hour and a half left before he loses control again and changes. Best to have him secured before then.”

“Noted.” He turned to leave, but paused, still facing away as he spoke. “I personally disagreed with the werewolf council’s decision to dissuade our kind from participation in this…venture with the Hunters Guild. Tonight gives me more reason to petition for their reconsideration.”

“Society won’t change for the better without us participating.”

“My thoughts exactly.” Santiago took a deep breath and let out a soft laugh, glancing back at Foxx. “I had wondered what sort of relationship a hunter and a vampire would have once partnered together… This makes sense. Though I have to say, you two don’t do much to hide it, do you?”

Foxx gasped, face flushing. “You… You! Leave before I change my mind!”

The wolves burst out laughing and walked away as Harlow approached. “Sniffed us out, did he?”

“Shut up before I advance my plans to end you, old man!”

Harlow snickered and started pushing him around the car to the passenger side.

Didn’t Harlow realize how tired he was?! That he’d only slept an hour. And all because the human couldn’t control his libido! Foxx, an old, powerful vampire, defeated by an old man’s libido. It was so stupid. He was so tired. And cold. And tired… Foxx let out a defeated whimper.

“Okay, I think it’s time to leave now. Let’s get you back to my cabin, and in bed before you start to become too murdery…or weepy.”

“I just want to sleep,” Foxx cried as Harlow practically picked him up and placed him into the car. “Do you know how tired I am?” He sniffled. “And cold…and you are all teasing me. I’m tired, dammit. I don’t like being teased when I’m tired. I just want to sleep.”

“I know, brat. I know,” Harlow said as he buckled him in. “Come on, I’ll get you to bed.”
