“Good. Keep that needy hole ready for me. It is Christmas after all, games are essential.” He grinds into me once more, hitting the sweet spot with his hardness, making me moan into him.Seriously, you’re leaving me hanging.
“Spence, you’re going to leave me like this? All needy after you just got me hot and throbbing for you?” He stands, tucking away his massive erection.
“Yeah, baby girl, I am.” He smirks and turns away as we hear a knock at the door.
“Good morning, sweeties, time for a quick breakfast, and then we are decorating. Levi will be here in four hours!” Anna basically yells in excitement.
Spencer turns, looking my way, throwing me a devious smile. “Little edging never hurt anyone, baby.”
We have been putting in work this morning, making the house perfect. Spencer and I set up the tree in the living room. It’s a large, eight-foot-tall flocked green Christmas tree, and the decoration boxes are all set out, ready to be tackled. Anna walked David around the house, pointing out where she wanted her wreaths and her lights hung. The good and patient man that he is, followed her around, taking a kiss as payment with each job well done. Spencer shakes his head, but smiles because that is love; that is the same way he loves me —openly and without end.
Spencer and I follow Anna into the kitchen, which smells delicious, and our stomachs immediately growl. Anna has been cooking all morning, preparing casseroles, turkey, ham, sides, and desserts; it looks as if she is hosting for the entire neighborhood. “This is so much food.” Looking at the islandwhere food is coming out of the oven, it is being replaced by a new dish. This woman doesn't mess around when it comes to feeding her family or showing them love, and I am truly blessed to be a part of it.
“Honey, our boy is coming home. I have three kids to feed before I spoil them rotten.” She hugs me before walking over to David, who is hanging her last item; the mistletoe. They both look up before meeting eyes. David dips Anna and kisses her so softly, just as Spencer makes the puking face when the front door opens.
Levi!
Jumping up and down, I look at Spencer as his cheeks raise in the happiest smile. “Levi!”
Spencer and I turn around to see Levi and Maddie walking hand in hand. My legs move faster than my mind processes, finally catching up with me as I throw myself into Levi’s arms. I hug him like it’s the last time I’ll get to. “Brother!” I squeeze his body so tightly that he pats me.
‘Letty, you're stronger than me right now,” Levi grunts out. I quickly release my Hulk grasp, and Maddie laughs. Anna quickly comes in, pushing Spencer to the side.
“Sorry, honey, mama’s got to see her boy.” She throws her arms around Levi, squeezing him with an acceptable strength.
He wraps his arms around her. “Hey, Mama.” We all stop, my heart grows seven times larger, making me smile just as big as Anna. She places her hand on her heart, and without saying a word, we know those two words are the best gift she could have asked for this Christmas.
Spencer reaches in, hugging Levi. “Brother, shit man, it’s good to have you home, where you belong.” They hug each otherfor a long time, whispering something to each other and making one another laugh.
David steps in from behind the hallway pile-up. “Son, welcome home. We have all been patiently waiting for your arrival.”
Chapter 57
It’s Only Up From Here
Levi
Iknew everyone would be waiting for me to walk through that door, but what I wasn’t ready for was the love they showered me with.
Standing around the most enormous Christmas tree I have ever seen in person, we all laugh and smile while decorating the white, snow-flocked branches. “This is the best day.” Scarlett leans against me with her head on my shoulder, looking up at the lit tree.
“It’s only up from here.” Lying my head on her, as we sit and admire the beautifully decorated tree.
We hear a camera shutter, making us both turn around to see Anna snapping a picture of us. “This is the start of forever, live this life exactly how you two want to, and we will be here every step of the way.” Maddie smiles widely, and Spencer sets his hand on Anna’s shoulder, kissing her cheek.
“Feed me, Mom.” He pouts, making her laugh.
We all follow to the kitchen, ready to eat all the good food Anna made.
Maddie and I fill our plates to the brim, stacked full of the Christmas feast. Making our way to the table, we all take our assigned seats.
It’s time.
Everyone is seated around the table, plates full of food, and love radiating from them. I stand tapping my wine glass. “Before we eat, I’d like to say a few things.” I swallow hard, looking at all the people I have come to love and call family.
“First, I want to say thank you to all of you. I never thought we would be here, in a place of love, with a family that gives nothing but devotion and kindness. Thank you, Anna and David, for taking us in, loving us, guiding us, and giving us a home. You saved us, saved me, and for the first time in my life, I can look at my sister with peace, knowing we can live, when all this time we have only ever been surviving. You’ve given us life, family, and everything we could have dreamt of. I hope calling you ‘Mama’ wasn’t out of line, because the truth is, you are everything a child hopes for in a mother, and I am so grateful for you. David,Pops, thank you for showing me how a man should be and for allowing me into your home to love your family. I promise not to let youdown.” I watch Anna’s eyes fill with tears, and David looks to me like I stole his heart.
Turning to Maddie, she smiles widely, with tear-filled eyes, because apparently, my thank-you toast has turned everyone into emotional puddles. She is so fucking beautiful.
