“Weird or embarrassing? Me? Ha!”

Me: You can come get me but be prepared for the hurricane that is Gia.

Elliot: Can’t wait. Address?

I send him the address of where I am and when I put my phone on the table in front of me, I wonder if I’ve just made a huge mistake.

Chapter Thirty-One

Elliot

“Oh my God, Sera. He’s even hotter in person!”

I can’t hide the smirk over Seraphine’s friend whispering to her about me. Or, thinking she’s whispering because she’s quite loud. Alcohol will do that to you, and they’ve both clearly had a lot. I can tell by the glassy eyes and flushed faces. The cheesy grins help too.

Everything about this friend of Seraphine’s—Gia—is the opposite of my Seraphine. Where Seraphine has dark hair and fair skin, Gia has blond hair with naturally tanned skin. Olive toned. Her eyes are big and bright. They’re the first thing you notice about her, and I bet they make a lot of men go absolutely crazy.

“Stop it,” Seraphine hisses, shoving at her friend. “I said nothing embarrassing.”

“Talking about my good looks is embarrassing?” I ask as I reach them, giving them a grin too.

Seraphine covers her face with her hands, muttering something under her breath.

“No, it’s not,” Gia says, getting to her feet unsteadily and offering me her hand. She sways and I chuckle as I take her hand. “Giavanna Marino.”

“Elliot Caldwell.”

“Oh, I know who you are.” She bites her bottom lip as she looks at me.

“Knock it off, Gia,” Seraphine groans.

I smile wider, letting go of Gia’s hand to grasp Seraphine’s hands, pulling them from her face. Holding her chin, I lean down to kiss her.

“Have you been talking about me?”

“No,” she says the same time Gia says, “yes.”

I raise a brow and Seraphine glares at Gia.

“Has she?” I ask.

“Yes, but not nearly enough.”

I make an agreeable sound, then turn my attention back to Seraphine.

“Are you ready to go?”

“Or we could stay here, have a drink, and I could get to know you a little?” Gia suggests.

“Oh, absolutely not.” Seraphine hops to her feet, stumbling into me. I grab her by the waist steadying her but not letting her go. “Another day, Gia.”

“Okay, fine. I get it. You want to go get some big dick. I tot—”

“Gia!”Seraphine shouts.

“What?” Gia asks as if she doesn’t understand what she said wrong. I can’t help but laugh.

“Do you have a ride home, Giavanna?”
