“Why’s that?”
“Didn’t expect you to go for the romantic movie.”
“I wouldn’t say it’s romantic, though it is a love story.”
“You can erase someone from your mind. Getting them out of your heart is another story.” I quote the hook on the front of the cover and instantly blush when I see the way Elliot is looking at me. “Sorry. It’s one of my favorite movies, actually.”
“Put it on,” he says seriously. “Let’s watch it.”
“Really?”
“Of course.”
I search through all the platforms to find it, but can only find it for purchase, so I click on it to buy. It’s worth it. I do love this movie. When it pops up and asks for a credit card, Elliot moves to get up.
“No,” I say, glaring as I get to my feet. “I can pay for this.”
“Well, so can I.”
“Just let me do this.”
He holds my stare. “Fine.”
I get my wallet from my purse and enter the numbers. The purchase is complete, and I start the movie.
“Come here.” Elliot holds his arm out and I move into his side. We stay like that until halfway through the movie, then he shifts to lie down. With his head rested on one of the throw pillows, his knees are bent slightly to fit on the couch. I squeeze in between him and the back of the couch, snuggling close. It’s so warm here.
“How tall are you?” I ask, thinking he mustn’t be comfortable.
“Six-three.”
“Wow.”
He chuckles, pulling me closer to him. I rest my hand on the center of his chest, and the rhythmic thumping of his heartbeat soothes me. When the movie comes to an end, I glance at Elliot to find him fast asleep. It’s shocking, but also the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
He’s so relaxed in sleep. Long dark lashes sit fan over his cheeks, and his lips are slightly parted. I’m not sure if he has anything to do tonight, so I don’t know if I should wake him. If I’m being honest, I don’t want to. I’ll lay here with him all night and enjoy every second of it. But I never got to ask why he was here in the first place. What made him show up? Does he need something or did he just… miss me?
I push that thought from my mind, rest my head on his shoulder, and fall asleep.
A warm, humming sensation courses through my body slowly stirring me from sleep. Soft moans come from somewhere around me and I force my eyes open. A dark head of messy hair is between my legs, the warmth thanks to Elliot’s mouth that is currently devouring me. The moans are his as he enjoys himself, feasting on me for breakfast.
The soft morning light pours in through the windows, basking the room in a golden glow.
I tangle my fingers in Elliot’s hair, thrusting my hips against his mouth. He tightens his grip on me while spreading me wider, hitting the perfect spot to send me shattering into a million pieces. So glad I woke up just in time.
His lips are glistening when he lifts his face, and he makes a show of running his tongue along them, savoring my flavor.
“What time is it?” I ask, voice husky, looking toward the windows and seeing the sun up.
“Does it matter?” He gets to his feet, and my gaze goes to the thick outline in his slacks.
“I have work.” I sit up, putting my feet on the floor.
“You’re fucking the boss.” He takes a step away, but I grab his wrist. He turns to look at me.
“I was hoping to.”
He growls as he turns back to me, dropping to his knees and kissing me.
