“We need to tell our parents,” Nick murmurs into the back of my shoulder blade. “Or should we wait? When are you supposed to break the news?”
“I say first thing in the morning,” Dom states without missing a beat. “Or I can get the phone now…”
I chuckle at his enthusiasm. “It’s after eight. Everyone is in bed or getting ready for bed.”
“Shit.” Nick’s head jerks up. “Supper. We need to feed you.”
Despite the giddy explosion of excitement in my chest, I roll my eyes. “You make me sound like a Tamagotchi.”
“I mean, close enough,” Nick teases, poking my side. “Need to feed you regularly and play with you and make you cum.”
My eyebrow lifts. “I don’t remember that option.”
He wiggles his playfully. “It’s in the upgraded version.”
I’m still laughing when Dom rolls out of bed saying, “We’re ordering pizza.”
We watch his tight ass stroll out of the bedroom.
Nick turns me over and pins me onto my back. His face looms over mine, soft and still holding traces of his smile.
“Did you want to tell your mom?”
Some of the happiness dulls around the edges, but I shake my head.
The truth of the matter is, I don’t know how to get ahold of her. After things didn’t work out with Walker, she went to live with family, but I didn’t bother asking which family. My guess is my Aunt Jane, but I have no idea where she lives and I don’t care to know.
It wouldn’t be my dad, not with the explosion of IRS issues he’s suddenly tangled up with. The last text I got from him was that Simone took the boys and went back to France without him, leaving him to figure everything out alone. I don’t know what he expected me to do, but I blocked his number — and Mom’s — and nothing has ever felt so right.
“I don’t think she would care,” I tell him. “And I don’t want her in our baby’s life.”
Nick nods slowly. “I didn’t either, but if you wanted…”
“I don’t.”
He kisses me lightly.
“Have I told you how much I love you?”
I grin against his mouth. “Not since an hour ago.”
He hisses through his teeth. “Damn, I’m behind.”
We’re still giggling and kissing when Dom returns. His phone is tossed down on the end table before he joins us under the sheets.
“What did I miss?”
I roll to him and capture his mouth. “This.” He groans against my lips and hooks an arm across my middle. “And I love you.”
He kisses me harder.
“Love you, too, baby.”
And just like that, I’m excited for Christmas for the first time in my life.
I’m excited for tomorrow.
I’m still terrified that I’ll fuck things up, but I know the two holding me grounded won’t let that happen, and as long as I have them, I can face anything.
And I will.
The End
