“And Piggy,” she said almost dryly.

I leaned toward the mic as I stared at her curiously. Something was bothering her; I could sense it. “Your favorite duo coming to you, giving you what you need to get through your day,” I said as I looked at her.

She gave me a weak smile. “What’s the topic for today?” she asked.

I had never had to come up with a topic because she was always ready and willing, but today shit was different. However, I knew the one thing that would shake shit up. My tongue ran over my lips before I spoke, “Let’s talk about living outside of reality.”

Her head snapped my way. “Yeah, let’s talk about it,” she hissed as she crossed one thick thigh over the other.

My eyes slowly crept up her legs to her pretty face. “Do you think people get lost in their own fantasies and can’t find their way out?” I challenged her.

She smirked. “Hell, I like the fantasy world. At least there, happiness lies.”

“Does it?” I snapped back.

I knew that bringing up this topic would strike a chord with her. It was her way of thinking that further let me know she couldn’t handle my reality. It was her emotions running high purely over a topic. Each time I tested her, she failed, and we would start all over. I wanted her to show me that her skin was thick, that this world wouldn’t swallow her alive. I wanted to see her slay shit in the real world just as she did in her gaming one.

She gave a sarcastic laugh. “Everyone can’t have what they want in the real world, so why fight it? I say live in dreamland. Be free there, explore all you can because the reality is, you need both to survive.”

She was mad, and the shit was turning me on. To watch her go from zero to a hundred was quite interesting. Now I wanted to push her buttons. “Piggy, I don’t think the two can co-exist. If you got lost in what you calldreamland, you won’t be able to separate the two. It’ll fog your mind.”

“No, it won’t.”

“Yes, yes, it will.”

Her eyes twitched, her nose flared. “Ok, Mr. know-it-all, explain.”

I leaned back in the seat and rubbed my scruffy beard. “I mean, think about it. You play this game called Treasure of Doom, correct?”

She shrugged. “And?”

“And as much as you immerse yourself in the game, you start to apply what goes on in there to your reality, almost like the damsel in distress.”

She turned her chair to face me. “I don’t consider myself a damsel in distress.”

I had now turned toward her. “That’s not what I said. I said you take an inkling from the game and apply it to your reality. Let me dumb it down.”

She scooted closer, now grilling me. “I don’t need you to dumb anything down. What I need you to understand is that, no matter who you are, we all live in some fantasy, whether it's a game or not. Now, whether you want to believe it or not, in the back of your mind, you have some form of hope that in your alternate world, it can apply to your real one, for good or bad.”

My head flew back as I thought about her words. Was she right? In my mind, I didn’t see it that way; however, what she said started to challenge my thoughts. “If you say so,” I muttered.

She leaned forward toward the mic. “We’re going to take a music break, and we’ll be back,” she finished before clicking the button to play some soft ass R&B music.

She pointed at me. “Are you trying to be funny or some shit because honestly, Beans, I’m not here for it.”

“Beans?” I paused. “Oh, you're mad. What a nigga do to you?”

She moved closer to me. Her nose was damn near touching mine. A growl was on the verge of spilling from my lips. Her smell made my dick hard, and her lips were calling out to me. My eyes narrowed in on her. We stared at each other until she blinked. “You know what. You're right, the two cannot exist. Let’s wrap this shit up so I can dive into a place I’d rather be, and I can assure you it isn’t with you,” she said as she got up to walk out.

I shot up from the chair, “Where the fuck are you going?”

She laughed. “You got it,” she finished as she walked out on me.

I tossed the headphones off and followed behind her. I grabbed her arm and spun her my way.

“Let me go!” she spat.

“Calm—”
