“My sister had a tough labor with the twins. She ended up having an emergency caesarian.”

Andrea leaned her head against the wall. “Was she okay afterward?”

“It took her a while to recover, but she was fine. Having three babies under the age of three wasn’t going to slow her down—even if she’d just had a major operation.”

While they shared stories about their families, Andrea kept glancing down the corridor. She really hoped Kylie was all right.

Forty-five minutes later, a door opened and Ben came to see them. “We have a baby girl!”

Andrea’s mouth dropped open. “Already?”

“I can’t believe it either.”

David hugged him. “Congratulations. How’s Kylie?”

“She doing fine, but she’s amazed we have a baby. It happened so fast.” He turned to Andrea and hugged her. “Thank you for being at the farm. I don’t know what Kylie would have done without you.”

“Nate would have helped her, but I’m glad I was there, too. Charlotte and her grandma will be excited to see your baby.”

Ben grinned. “We’ve just called them. Charlotte didn’t want to be dropped off at the farm. She was worried her baby sister would be born after she went to sleep.”

Andrea checked the time. “She didn’t have to worry about that. You haven’t been here all that long.”

“It surprised Zac, too. Are you ready to see our baby girl?”

Andrea held David’s hand. “I can’t wait. Have you chosen a name?”

“Erin Elizabeth Micheal Thompson,” Ben said proudly as they walked down the corridor.

“That’s lovely.” Andrea smiled when she saw Kylie sitting in bed with her daughter in her arms. “Hello, Mommy.”

Kylie looked up and grinned. “I’m glad you’re still here,” she whispered. “Hi, David. Come and see Erin.”

Andrea’s breath caught when she saw the sweet face peeking up at her. With her little button nose and rosebud mouth she was perfect. “Look at her dark hair.”

“Ben’s thrilled. For some reason, he thought she’d have my blond hair.”

Erin scrunched up her face and turned toward Kylie.

“She’s beautiful,” David said with awe. “Erin’s lucky to have you and Ben as her parents.”

Kylie looked at Ben with tears in her eyes. “I never thought I’d be a mom or be so happy.”

Andrea gave her friend a gentle hug. “Enjoy every moment. You’ll be an amazing mom.” She looked at David and smiled. “I’d better collect Charlie and Andy from the inn. Would you like to come with me?”

“I’d love to.” He turned to Ben. “If you need anything, let me know.”

“Actually,” Kylie said. “There is one thing we still need to do.”

Ben frowned. “There is?”

“I found a cradle in the loft above The Christmas Shop. If we can get it down, it will make a wonderful bed for Erin.”

Ben’s frown deepened. “How did you know it’s there?”

“I might have seen it when I was spring cleaning.”

“Today?”
