“Letme find out Kateri got you in love.” I teased Cairo in the Gucci store.
He was returning some shoes he purchased online and ended up buying two purses for Kateri. I knew they were for her because his mom wouldn’t wear those and Rosalina got damn near every one of them when they first came out. Not that those were old but his sister got them sent to her before they dropped in stores.
“I’m not sure if it’s love but she definitely got me stuck.” One thing about Cairo was he never bit his tongue or hid his feelings for a woman. Victoria was the only other person who had him smitten and that didn’t work out well.
“I guess so. I mean for the last month and a half, if you’re not working she’s either at your place or y’all shacked up in a hotel fucking each other brains out.” He paid for the stuff and waited for the cashier to bag them up. He was still hesitant on allowing her on the compound but he had no problem with her going to his other places.
“When you taking Rosalina out the doghouse because you all up in my business.” I had to laugh. I haven’t spoken to her since that shit happened at the office; not even her mom’s party could get me to speak.
I wasn’t being childish more than I was making her deal with the consequences of her actions. She should’ve never believed a woman over me, especially when I didn’t give her any reason to believe I’d cheat. Never mind the fact the family would’ve known if I got married.
“I don’t have a choice now since my best friend in love and don’t have time to hang out.” I pretended to rub my eyes as if I were crying. He took the bags from the lady and left me in the store.
“Why are you treating me that way? What we had was special.” I stepped out the store and saw Nicole who was Jackie’s best friend crying in front of Cairo. Walking over to hear more of her theatrics so I could clown him later, I noticed a guy watching from the distance. Sending a message to one of the guards to make his way over there, I stood next to Cairo.
“What would your new bitch say knowing we recently had sex, and you never brought me anything.” She pointed to the bags in his hand. Cairo was quiet with no facial expression.
Most would see that as him being embarrassed but that wasn’t it. Nope! He was observing her behavior, paying attention to his surroundings even with the amount of security he had. And lastly, deciding which way he would take her life. If you knew Cairo, then you knew not to make a spectacle of yourself in front of him. He hated the attention and despised the person for causing it.
“Those are my bags.” I joked tryna make light of the situation.
“Whatever. Cairo why aren’t you…” Her voice trailed off when he walked away as I followed behind.
“CAIRO ROMANO! YOU CAN’T JUST FUCK ME AND LEAVE. I’M PREGNANT!” He stopped short, turned around, smiled and went back to walking away. Even I knew that if he did sleep with her, it would’ve never been without a condom.
Cairo wanted kids but only by his wife. That’s another reason his hate for Victoria ran so deep. She went and allowed another man to impregnate her and was most likely going to say the child was Cairo’s. Regardless of him cheating, he did love her which was why he gave her a ring.
“I’m about to be an uncle. I can’t wait.” He sucked his teeth.
“Fuck you and that bitch. I got something for her.” I already knew that.
“Why you ain’t let security take her? She was screaming like a maniac.” I asked still walking along side of him.
“Manny put me up on some shit so she’ll have to wait for now.” He showed me the message and video Manny sent and shocked was an understatement.
“What you gonna do?” I handed him the phone when we walked in the Salvatore Ferragamo store.
“I’m thinking of a new way to kill people so I’m not sure yet.” I let out a laugh and started looking around myself. We both loved coming in here and so did the staff.
“Hi, can I help you, Mr. Romano and Mr. Sanchez?” We’re definitely here too much if the staff knew our names. As we pointed to certain items, I smelled her perfume without her saying a word.
“Anything he wants is on me.” Rosalina spoke to one of the ladies behind me. When I turned around, my dick was ready to be inside her. She had on some fitted jeans with a V-neck shirt and some Jordans. I loved when she wasn’t dressed up.
“What you doing here?” Cairo asked Kateri who was here as well.
“Well, it’s my off day, all my bills are paid and my friend here.” She pointed to Lina. They’ve been hanging out a lot since meeting in the Cayman’s.
“She invited me to go shopping and since I had a few dollars to waste, I decided window shopping with her won’t be too bad.” Cairo started laughing.
“But she did go with me into stores I could afford so I got you a few things.” Cairo placed his bags on the seat inside the store and waited for her to pull out whatever she got. I told the lady to give me a few minutes so I could be nosy too.
“What? You want me to show you in here?” You could tell she was uncomfortable. She glanced around and saw others coming in and the workers assisting different people. No one paid any attention to her.
“Why not?”
“Cairo, this is an expensive store.”She tried to whisper.
“So what.” He didn’t see why that was an issue and I didn’t either.
