As his mate’s legs began to give out, Steel wrapped his arm around Jackson to hold him up. He knew his slow and hard thrusts were pushing Jackson to the heights of frustration, keeping him from coming. As his mate grew more frustrated, he knew Jackson’s orgasm would reach new heights when Steel finally allowed it. He loved hearing his mate begging for relief—the endless stream of disjointed, slurred words and sounds erupted from Jackson’s throat as Steel continued to thrust into Jackson’s tight hole. Looking down and watching his cock disappear into Jackson, he felt his balls start to tighten at the sight, signaling he was ready, so he sped up.

Jack-hammering into his mate’s pucker, Steel also increased his strokes on Jackson’s cock. Faster and faster, harder and harder, until Steel’s hips were a blur of motion as he was driven to finish. Crying out, Jackson’s orgasm finally found freedom, exploding out the end of his cock, his ass clenching down on Steel’s rod, causing a chain reaction as a tsunami of cum flooded his insides. Steel roared out Jackson’s name; his incisors emerged and he bit down on his mate’s neck once again, drinking the blood that rushed into his mouth. Withdrawing his teeth slowly, Steel licked the bite to help it heal.

Leaning on his mate’s back, Steel’s breathing was erratic as he came down from the height of his passion. Standing up slowly, he lifted Jackson up against his chest. Wrapping both arms tightly around his mate, he nuzzled his nose in the hollow of Jackson’s neck, before licking the bite again. He listened to Jackson’s heart, still beating in double time as his mate drew in ragged, deep breaths, trying to still his body.

They stood like that for a while as the water cascaded over their bodies, taking with it all the visible signs of their lovemaking. Finally, when their bodies had calmed down, they washed each other silently, lovingly caressing each other.

After rinsing off, Steel dried himself, grabbed a heated towel, sat down, then lifted Jackson onto his lap. Slowly drying his mate’s body, he continued to press kisses all over his chest, neck, and face. And when his mate was dry, Steel hugged Jackson tightly, whispering into his ear, “I love you, now and forever, and that won’t even be enough time,mo chroí. You are my heart, my soul, my everything.”

Jackson felt better than he had in a long time after eating the large, late lunch Dakota made for him. Now, sitting next to Steel in his office, he waited for the call to the High Council to be answered. After several rings, a voice said, “Wolfgrim Morris here.”

Steel replied, “Mr. Morris, I’m Steel Valentin, mate to Jackson, the Alpha of Blackwood Pack. I have you on speaker phone and Jackson is sitting next to me.”

“Hello Mr. Morris, I’m Alpha Blackwood,” said Jackson.

“Hello Alpha. Let me get straight to the point. I was unable to reach Alpha Silver Point by phone for several weeks…”

“How come?” asked Steel.

“I don’t know why he wasn’t available to take my call. I was only told there was an emergency in his pack. Since time was of the essence, I decided to personally visit Silver Point Pack so I could give the Alpha the Complaint and the official Warning. This has been accomplished,” Morris explained.

“What’s an official warning?” asked Jackson.

“When a complaint has been filed against a pack, the High Council gives an official warning to that pack about not harming any member of the complaining pack,” explained Morris.

Steel looked at Jackson. “What comes next?”

“The Silver Point Pack has sixty days to file an answer to the Complaint,” replied Morris.

“Okay, so right now it’s a waiting game until they answer?” asked Jackson.

“That is correct. When I receive their answer, I will forward a copy to you. Until then, there is nothing to be done,” Morris explained.

“Thank you for the update. Good-bye, Mr. Morris,” said Steel.

“Good-bye,” added Jackson.

“Good-bye Alpha Blackwood, Mr. Valentin,” replied Morris.

Hanging up the phone, Steel contemplated the discussion. The High Council knew that Silver Point Pack had been officially warned and therefore would assume no harm would come to Jackson and his brothers. Steel wasn’t so sure. Silver Point Pack had already shown they were dishonorable.

What made their actions all the more sinister was the night they’d picked for the massacre—a new moon, the darkest night of the month. And then, if he added their killing of innocents—women and children—there was no other conclusion Steel could reach; he could not trust them.

Breaking the silence Jackson asked, “What do you think, babe, will my uncle behave himself and rescind the kill order on us?” He had his own ideas but wanted to hear Steel’s thoughts first.

“I would like to think so, but in reality, no, I don’t trust them. Silver Point would kill all of you first and then beg forgiveness from the High Council,” replied Steel. “But I have an idea I want to run past my father and brother first. I think we can force them to obey the High Council’s warning and rescind the kill order if their Alpha realizes there may be some unpleasant consequences if he doesn’t.”

Chapter 27

Colton went over his final list several times to make sure it was as complete as he could make it. The first list he submitted was perfect, but Steel asked him to add more patient rooms to the mini hospital he was setting up on the lower floor, hence the need for a new list. He was meeting with Steel shortly and wanted to be fully prepared, ready to answer any questions his brother-in-law might have. He regretted he hadn’t completed the final year of his nursing program but it was what it was. He wasn’t alone in lost dreams. After the massacre, all his brothers had to give up their dreams as well when they went into hiding.

Hehadmanaged to take some classes online in the past few years, but not enough to earn his RN degree. That could put him at a decided disadvantage with the doctor Steel hired since some doctors were notorious for treating nurses badly because they didn’t have an MD after their name. But not having one never bothered Colton. Nurses, he was convinced, had more hands-on contact with sick people and could help them recover faster because they were the ones patients most often trusted and turned to for help.

He didn’t know who this doctor would be but made up his mind he wasn’t going to be pushed around or talked down to simply because he lacked a degree on his wall. His brother was relying on him. Walking toward Steel’s office, Colton could feel his wolf pacing. Hmm, guess it was time for another run.

His wolf’s uneasiness ignored, he knocked on the door, waiting for a response. In the past, he’d have entered after knocking but that was before his brother mated. He’d learned the hard way after Steel came on the scene never to do that. As it was, the picture of his brother suckingSteel’s cock would forever be etched in his mind and he wasn’t keen on adding to that file.
