“I already know.”
It took Theo a moment to process Norm’s reply but, as understanding dawned on him, a frown appeared on his face. “Who told you?”
“Mac did and Ian confirmed it,” Norm replied, smiling. “I know what you’re thinking…and you’re right, I didn’t believe it at first. Heck, I didn’t even know it was possible but Ian assured me it was. And before you ask, I think it’s wonderful. You always wanted a family and now we’ll have one. I know it’s earlier than we talked about, but honestly, after taking care of Jake and Jessica, Iknowwe can do this.”
Staring at Norm, Theo was trying to make sense of what he just heard but couldn’t. “What are you talking about?”
“Our cub, of course,” Norm replied grinning. “Isn’t it amazing?”
“Our what?”
“Our cub…the one you’re going to have in five months…or at least that’s what Mac said.”
Theo’s eyebrows shot up. “Mac thinks I’m pregnant?”
“Not thinks…knows.”
“He’s wrong! We aren’t married and you know that has to happen first,” Theo said.
“Yeah…about that…honeybunch, did you ever say the commitment words? Like practice them?”
Frowning, Theo nodded. “Several times. I wanted to make sure I didn’t mess up on our wedding day. Why do you want to know?”
“Just confirming a theory Ian had.”
“About what?”
“Why you were able to get pregnant. Contrary to what we were taught, it appears only one person has to say the commitment words in order to trigger a pregnancy.”
Theo’s eyes grew huge. “You mean…it’s true…we’re gonna have a cub…our very own? And no one will take him away from me?”
Shaking his head, Norm growled, “No one better try.”
Looking down, Theo placed a hand over his belly, wondering when he would feel their cub move. It couldn’t happen soon enough as far as he was concerned. Other than marrying pooh bear, having a family of his own was what Theo had yearned for ever since they were rescued from Arald’s prison. And now his dreams were finally coming true.
Norm smiled at the expression on Theo’s face. The sadness he’d found there all too often in the last few months was gone, replaced with happiness. Placing his hand over Theo’s, he whispered, “Our very own cub to love and protect.”
Glancing up at his fiancé, Theo’s eyes shone with unshed tears. “I won’t let anyone hurt him, pooh bear…never, I promise.”
Using his thumb, Norm wiped away a tear from Theo’s face. “I know you won’t…and I promise you…and our cub, the same.”

Dylon waited until all the Witches’ Council members had left the room, before opening the door and ushering Glenn and Sawyer in. Turning to Brady, he asked, “Your thoughts?”
“It’s obvious Zohar intends to kill Remy and Carson in a few days and doesn’t want any witnesses…other than the ones he exempted from his order,” Brady replied.
“Agree,” Dylon said, “but do you have any idea how that could happen?”
“I thought Remy’s magic is more powerful than any other magic user,” Glenn said.
“It is,” Brady said.
“Then how can Zohar kill him?” asked Logan.
“Because he isn’t going to use magic,” Kieran replied.
Brady nodded. “Remy can be killed without using magic.”
