Turning to Glenn, Sawyer raised his eyebrow. “I’m good…you?”

“No need…we can eat once we’re there.”

Henri nodded, thinking about the quickest route to take considering the traffic they’d encounter.

After answering Lucius’ last question, Oracle approached the vampire, grasping his hand. “It has been a pleasure meeting you and if there is anything I can do, Brady knows how to find me.”

Rising, Lucius whispered, “I think it should be the other way around…I owe you so much.”

Standing beside his mate, Brady slid his arm around Lucius’ waist. “Leelan…I’m the onewho’s obligated to Oracle because she gave you to me.”

Smiling, Oracle just shook her head. “Both of you have already paid any debt you think you owe me. Now, I must go.”

“Aren’t you going to stay for the welcome dinner Quin has planned for Alex?” asked Logan.

“Unfortunately, I have another appointment,” Oracle said. “Please give Quin my regrets on missing what I know will be a fun time.”

“Q won’t be too disappointed,” Kieran said, giggling, “because that just means he can do another fabulous one when youcancome.”

“Is this something new for Quin?” asked Oracle.

“Maybe,” Kieran replied. “I’m pushing him to become a designer because I just love his designs.”

“I do, too,” Oracle agreed. “If he does become one, please let me know because I will certainly want Quin to design several outfits for me.”

“Oh my gods! Wait till I tell Q he has his first client, I just know he’s going to be so excited cuz he didn’t believe me when I told him you would probably want him to make you something and now you do so he’s gonna be so surprised. I was right, but then I knew you had good taste and after all, Q’s designs are the epitome of fabulousness!” Kieran exclaimed, bouncing on his toes. “Hey,macushla, I think Q should design matching outfits for you and squirt. I can just see it now…”

Noticing the dubious look on his brother’s face, Carson roared with laughter. “I think that’s a great idea, Kieran.”

“I know…right?” Kieran said, grinning at Carson. “I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before.”

Inwardly groaning at the thought, Logan could only imagine what he’d look like. Deciding it was in his best interests to give his mate a different idea, he suggested, “Why don’t you ask Q to make something for the newest pack members? Maybe he can design something fit for a prince and princesses?”

Kieran’s eyes grew round at his mate’s suggestion. “That’s perfecto, macushla!”

“And it keeps Quin from…” Carson started to say, grinning.

Silencing his brother with a look that could kill, Logan said, “It’s a good way for Quin to discover if he likes being a designer.”

“Absolutmont!” Kieran said gleefully, already making plans for a trip to a fabric store for him and Quin.

“C’mon, Oracle,” Logan said, “I’ll walk you out, seeing my mate is busy planning out his latest project.”

Amid a chorus of thanks and good-byes, Oracle followed Logan to the front door. Before leaving, she said, “Please tell Hunter if there are any questions Fionn or Alex have, I will be happy to answer them.”

Nodding, Logan opened the door, noticing Oracle’s driver and car waiting for her outside. “Will do…just curious though…do you know if everything will turn out okay?”

Giving him an enigmatic smile, Oracle swept out the door without saying another word.

Sighing, Logan slowly shut the door, before heading back to the living room. It was time to head over to the chateau to see what Quin had in store for Alex’s’ welcoming dinner.

Shifting in his seat, Henri tried to get rid of the kinks in his back; his early start to the day was catching up with him. What he expected to be a drive filled with answering questions from his passengers ended up in silence—they were all asleep within ten minutes of leaving the airport. And while he normally wouldn’t have minded a quiet ride, this time he did, mainly because his thoughts kept going back to what he found in his search of the High Council’s records…and Edna.

A smile flitted across his face as she came to mind. Desire rose in him until he was forced to face the truth of his burgeoning need to feel her touch again and, as far as he was concerned, it couldn’t happen soon enough. Exiting the main highway, Henri turned onto a country road leading to their destination, still an hour away. He wanted to turn on the radio to help pass the time, but didn’t want to wake his passengers, so he settled for humming a favorite tune.
