“Other than being Brady’s mate?”

“Yes…according to my spirit, he’s important,” said Kieran.

“That is correct, but before I can go further, I must speak to Brady and Lucius.” Then, smiling at the group, Oracle asked, “Any other questions?”

“Yeah, lots,” Logan chuckled, “but probably ones you can’t answer.”

Alex squeezed Sawyer’s hand as he listened to his tiger mate duke it out with Dylon. He hadn’t figured out why there were still remnants of animosity between them, but chalked it up to them both being Alphas. As long as they didn’t come to blows, he was fine with the posturing that occurred whenever they were near each other.

“Wanna make a bet on who wins this round?” muttered Sawyer.

“Nope because you know as well as I do, tiger mate is gonna give in,” Alex said with a mischievous smile.

“Really? Shoot, I need to set up a pool with my brothers. They’ll always pick the tiger to win over a wolf. We’ll clean up.”

“Don’t you dare. Hush, they’ve finally agreed.”

Turning to his mates, Glenn sighed. “Mystia will be here shortly to transport us…all of us…to Ghost’s. Okay with you guys?”

Alex squealed. “Oh, this is so exciting!”

Entering Dylon’s office, Mystia asked, “Is everyone ready? Just one thing, Dylon, do you know how long it will take?”

“Nope, but Glenn should.”

“Less than fifteen minutes,” replied Glenn. “Once Riley has the bug, we can leave while he does his research.”

“Wait! I thought he has all the equipment he needs at the house?” Dylon said.

“He does…jeeze, suspicious a bit?” Glenn rolled his eyes. “I thought you knew all this shit. Once Riley has the coded information, it’ll take time to go through the databases to find out who ordered it and when it was delivered.”

Laughing at Glenn and Dylon’s ongoing saber-rattling, Sawyer said, “Sweetheart, grab tiger mate’s hand while I get Dylon’s.”

“Good idea wolf mate…best to keep ‘em apart or nothing will ever get done.”

Linking her fingers with Dylon and Glenn’s, Mystia muttered some words, pulling them all into a dark vortex before finally reappearing in Ghost’s living room.

The vibrating phone in his pocket alerted Carson of an incoming call. Expecting to see Colton’s name, he was alarmed when he saw it was Cody calling. Quickly excusing himself, he left the living room, heading for the small office Remy had set up for him. Hitting the button to answer, Carson closed the door behind him before moving over to his desk. Whatever bad news his brother was about to tell him, was better listened to sitting down. “Hey, Cody, is everything okay with my new nephew and nieces?”

“Ha…the pups are fine, but Colton is totally discombobulated,” he laughed.

“Uhm…why?”

“My guess is he’s freaking out about being a father.”

“But he’s a nurse…he knows how to care for pups…certainly more than you and Dylon did with Jessica and Jake.”

“Hey, we didn’t do so badly, did we?” Cody agreed, a hint of pride in his voice.

“That’s my point. You guys did…are doing great, but Colton has way more experience than either of you.”

“Yeah…well…maybe it might be because he nearly lost Lilia,” Cody replied quietly. “According to Mac, our brother had to use his power to save her.”

Carson was silent for a moment as a shiver ran through his body from learning how close his niece had come to dying. “I didn’t know that. Are you sure she’s okay now?”
