“Absolutely! Unless you can’t keep up with myroyalneeds?”
I loved teasing him, and when he began tickling me, we laughed together, and it healed more of my bruised heart. Gus was never leaving my side ever again.
“Is it weird that I’m feeling nervous?” he whispered, almost as if he feared I would judge him for it. I would never understand what it was like being an alpha in our world, but soon Gus would see our people’s gratitude toward him. I would make sure of that. In time, he would grow used to their affection and respect as my mate.
“Let me help.” I turned and slid down his body, taking his undergarments off. His cock was half hard but quickly filled to full hardness as I began licking it.
“Four weeks,” Gus panted, his hands fisted on each side of his body, holding himself back.
“That doesn’t mean I can’t spoil my mate,” I replied with a wink, then swallowed him down.
Gus shouted with surprised pleasure. My wonderful alpha held himself back, as his length threatened to make me gag, but little did he know I loved feeling him like this. He was at my mercy for once, and I reveled in it, sucking and licking his cock like it was my favorite dessert.
“Mmmm,” I hummed, bobbing up and down as I eagerly swallowed his salty precum, his little groans of pleasure enough to spur me on.
“Seb.” He breathed my name like it was a plea. Looking up, my mouth still stuffed full of cock, I met his dark, lust-filled eyes and saw so much love and awe in them. Without looking away, I sucked like my life depended upon it. I wanted Gus to see the pure lust in my eyes and what his taste did to me. Drawing yet another groan of pleasure from Gus, his feet curled in delight, his hands in a white grip on the sheets. I had him right where I wanted him.
I let him go, then stared right into his eyes. “I want you to imagine my throat is my hole, sucking out all of your seed, ready to be bred.” Then I swallowed as much of him as I could.
Gus came within seconds, screaming my name again and again, as I smiled through it all, drinking him down.
“They’re ready for you,” Elias informed us, now working as my royal advisor next to Briar, both of them doing a fine job so far.
“Ready?” I asked Gus, lacing our fingers together as we stood before the closed balcony doors.
He swallowed audibly and nodded, his fingers tightening around mine.
I gestured to the alphas at the doors, and they opened one each. Confidently, I pulled Gus with me, standing proudly on the balcony as we looked over the thousands of gathered people, amix of both omegas and alphas, all standing eagerly and waiting for my important news.
I was about to change everything.
“Greetings, my people!” I began, raising my tone enough for them to hear. “I bear news that will surprise you, but trust me when I say that our world will soon change for the better.” I didn’t wait for a dramatic pause, too impatient for this lie to be believed for even a second longer.
“Alphas are not dangerous. In fact, the magic we believed helped control them, dull their senses, and keep order in our world was all a lie. My father, your previous king, found out about the lie and sought my alpha father so they could return here and tell you the truth together. They sadly never got the chance. May they both rest in peace. However, the past doesn’t always repeat itself, and now the truth has finally been revealed.”
A lot of murmuring could be heard from the open space below, but I continued. “I do not know if my grandfather, the king who started ‘the magic,’ truly possessed it or not. It is something, I guess, that we’ll never truly know. But I have never used the same magic as he did, nor did my father.”
I spoke louder next, wanting my words to truly sink in. “From this day forward, alphas and omegas are equals. No families will be torn apart. No mates shall be separated. We face a new time. A new future. And I’m proud to announce that I’ll be facing it with this alpha by my side. This is my mate, His Royal Consort, Gus. He was the one who opened my eyes to the truth. His love and kindness made me question everything I grew up believing to be true. My father’s journal was the last piece for me to know the entire truth.”
“My royal advisors have betrayed our kingdom and me, as they knew of this lie and kept it from me. They have been stripped of their rank and will be banished from the kingdom tomorrow. Mynew advisors will be announced in the upcoming weeks. But last, before you all seek your long-lost family members…” I gestured behind me.
Hal and Briar walked out, each holding one of our heirs. Hal handed Gus Lumi, while Briar handed me Ember. I’d done this introduction on purpose. I needed the crowd to see that I trusted an alpha enough to let him hold one of my heirs.
I turned around with Gus and faced the crowd once more. “The heirs have been born. Please welcome Lumi and Ember. One is an alpha, and one is an omega. They each hold the title of heir. Time will tell who will be your next king.”
A rush of awe and initial disbelief moved through the crowd as people in the back learned of our new order, too. Then, like a massive wave, it began, overwhelming and beautiful to behold. People cheered, screaming with happiness, as they embraced each other, and it brought tears to my eyes to finally be the king to end decades of injustice and sadness. I turned toward Gus, and I saw that he, too, was tearing up. I leaned in and brushed my lips against his, and the crowd went wild with joy. Facing them once more, I could see someone pushing their way through the crowd from the very back, around three to four people, but it was hard to see what was truly happening from the balcony.
Gus made a choked sound as he swayed next to me. “My family!” His gaze locked onto the group of men as the ocean of people separated for them. When they finally stood below us, I could see they were all omegas.
I turned to one of my guards. “Bring those four men inside. I want them to meet their new family members.”
We waved goodbye to the crowd, Gus with a vacant look in his glassy eyes as he clutched Lumi against his chest, his mind solely on his omega family.
The balcony doors closed behind us as I gently led Gus over to the nearest couch, figuring he needed to sit. His large bodyshook with emotion. We still held the babies, but they were content for the moment, so I focused fully on my mate and how he was dealing with everything. It had been my plan to let Gus say hello to our people, too, but I could sense how overwhelmed he was feeling and decided against it, letting his presence next to me speak for itself. Now his family was on their way up here, a reunion Gus had only known would be possible for a short while. For so long, he’d believed he would never see them again, but here they were, so close. His twin… I had to stop thinking about that. If my grandfather were still alive, I would’ve killed him myself. To think he held so much hatred toward alphas that he’d knowingly split up families… I vowed to be the best king this kingdom had ever seen, and with Gus by my side, I knew I would succeed. We would let our children choose for themselves whether they wanted to share the throne. I was all for an alpha king as the next ruler, but I also liked to think of them sharing the responsibility.
We sat in a lounge room with Elias and Briar to our right. Guards stood against the wall, and Hal lingered behind Gus, eyeing his friend with evident worry. I’d secretly grown to like Hal, but I would die before I ever admitted it.
There was a soft knock on the door, and then four guards walked in, Gus’ family trailing close behind, his omega father first, his hair a dark brown shade, but his eyes… Gus had inherited his omega father’s kind eyes, which were now shining with tears as he rushed forward. Hal swooped in and quickly took Lumi from Gus, and Briar did the same to me, freeing our arms so we could greet Gus’ family properly.
