Coming out of Bottoms Up after a less than fruitful search for Tinker, he and Chris were taking off.The man had either already come and gone, or he wasn’t coming at all tonight. It fucking blew that they had no other leads to check out.The fucker was up to something, Jed would bet his life on it.

Ever since Tinker got back, he’d been trying to keep tabs on the man.His happy-to-be-back, go-with-the-flow act didn’t fool Jed one bit. There was no way Tinker was going to allow what happened ten years ago to slide. He had a history of holding a mean grudge, and that was saying something considering he was already a mean son of a bitch. The shit he would do to the prospects and old ladies was nothing less than evil.It was a wonder that anyone ever wanted to prospect for the Sons back then.

It was only a matter of time before Tinker did something to get even with the club for letting him go to prison. He was the VP when he went in and would naturally feel he should be president now, since Monk, the prior SORMC president, was dead.Adding insult to injury in his mind, Dagger becoming the VP, a position Tinker once held, was the ultimate sin.

Back when things were going down that led to Tinker’s imprisonment, Jed had a decision to make.Save Dagger, who was shot in an ambush, or save Tinker, who was less injured and farther away.Considering he hated the VP’s guts, it was a no-brainer.So, yeah, Jed knew there was a big fat target on his back. And, unfortunately, Sadie had made it onto Tinker’s get-even list when she shot him down, and Race jumped his shit.

“Now where?”Chris asked, climbing into Jed’s truck.

“Back to the clubhouse, I guess.Haven’t come up with any other leads yet, so let’s head back and have a beer.”Jed started his truck and turned on the heater. He was already sick of the cold and snow, and he missed his bike. His phone rang, and he hit the answer button on his steering wheel.“Race? What’s up?”

“Someone’s breaking into Sadie’s, and you’re closer.I’ll send out a 911.I’m on my way.”Race hung up.

“What the fuck?”Chris glanced down at his phone when the 911 call came through.

“Someone’s breaking into Sadie’s.Come on.”He backed his truck up, then tore out of the lot, hellbent on getting to Sadie as fast as possible. He couldn’t believe someone was breaking into her apartment. This was the second time someone had gotten in, and if he had to bet money on it, he’d say it was Tinker. The first time someone left her a present on her bed, she hadn't been there. This time, they had the balls to enter while she and her nephew were sleeping. He could barely contain the rage he felt.

He came up on the turnoff in record time.He made a left and a quick right that would bring him to the back of the building, where the only entrance to her apartment was.As he came to a jarring stop, he heard her car alarm blaring and saw the lights flashing.

He raised his backseat and pulled out his pistol, handing an extra one over to Chris.“After we clear the apartment, find her keys, and shut off that alarm before the entire Redemption PD shows up.”He led the way up the stairs, his heart stopping at finding the door standing wide open. The light above the door had been taken out, and the camera facing the door was missing.Looking over the rail, he saw it on the ground, shattered.

They went in together, doing a quick sweep.Chris found Sadie’s purse on the table next to the door, fished her keys out, and shut off the car alarm. The silence was almost deafening. He advanced farther into the apartment, motioning for Chris to pass him and check Sadie’s room, while he peeled off to check on Oliver. He didn’t see the boy in his bed, and after a quick check beneath it, he confirmed neither of them was under there either. He eased his way closer to the closet, careful to avoid stepping on any toys that might give his position away.Holding his gun in one hand, he reached out with the other and started to pull it open.He barely touched the handle when someone on the other side shoved it toward him with enough force that he barely had enough time to move out of the way before it bounced against the wall.Sadie leaned out, screaming, as she shoved something into his nuts.

“Fuuuuck!”He grabbed his junk, collapsing to the floor. What felt like a jacked-up cattle prod shooting electricity into his junk almost had him blacking out.

The overhead light flashed on, blinding him at the same time Sadie came out of the closet, waving a stun gun around.Sparks crackling between the two prongs almost made him throw up.“What the fuck, woman?”he groaned. He was barely breathing; the pain was so bad.He understood she was scared out of her mind and was protecting herself and Oliver, but damn. His dick and balls didn’t care.He prayed she didn’t ruin any chance for future erections.

Chris, the fucker, was lucky he was standing so far away when he started laughing, or Jed might have been tempted to shoot him in the ass.He was still laughing when Race and Darren appeared behind him.

“What the fuck’s going on, and where are Sadie and Oliver?”Race did a quick inventory of the room, his frown deepening when he spotted Jed on the floor.

“We’re here.”Sadie was still waving that damn stun gun in her hand.Oliver peeked out from behind her, his eyes huge in his pale face.

“Why is Jed rolling on the floor holding his dick?”Race asked again.

It took some effort on Chris’s part, but he was able to stop laughing long enough to explain.“I think Sadie shot Jed in the nuts with a stun gun.”

“Ohhhh. That’s gotta hurt with a piercing.”When had Trick come into the room?

Damn it.Jed’s eyes were blurry from tearing up, and he might have pissed his pants.

“Ohhh.Got it.”Race frowned.

“I think she broke it,” Jed whined.Every once in a while, he experienced what felt like an aftershock that caused him to clench his teeth.

Race moved closer to the closet, stepping over him like he was a piece of furniture in his way.“Sadie, girl. Why don’t you hand over the stun gun, and you and Oliver come out of the closet?”He motioned her forward.

“Oh.Okay.”She handed Race the gun and reached for Oliver’s hand. Before she would have stepped over Jed, she leaned down.“I’m so sorry, Jed.I thought you were the intruder.”She appeared to be fighting not to grin.

His eyes narrowed, not sure if she was being sincere or not.“It’s okay.I get it.”Jed tried to move and groaned.

“Did Sadie really break your dick? And what does a pierced dick mean?”Oliver asked with the utmost sincerity.

Everyone went quiet at the kid’s innocent question.Coughs covered laughs, hands hid snickers.

“Where did you learn the word dick?”Sadie pulled out her mom-face when she asked.

Oliver ducked his head and tried to pretend his aunt wasn’t talking to him.
