I gather up and send Georgia all the information to her work email. That took more time than I thought it would and it’s time for practice so I make my way to the Wolves practice complex.
Once at the complex, I park and see Deej walking into the facility and I jog to catch up to him.
“Georgia texted me, she’s looking over all the information I sent her.”
“Oh, that’s great man. You’re in good hands and I’m not even saying that just because she’s my baby sister. She excels at her job. She’s the breadwinner, her husband is a stay-at-home dad because of how successful she is.”
“I believe you man, you don’t need to sell me on it.” I chuckle.
“But also thank you for working with her, she doesn’t need me helping her out because like I said she’s successful, but I still appreciate you wanting to work with her.”
“Of course, man, we’re basically family, we help each other out.”
“Which is why I’m helping you move your girl.” He smiles. “That sucks about her apartment though. It sounds like her landlord is at least decent about it.”
“Yeah, but I won’t lie. I’m pretty pleased she’s going to stay with me longer. It’s been great I forgot—”
Our conversation is interrupted by Tyson jogging up to us. “I drove my truck so we would have another truck to help move everything. Sadie said she’s helping tonight too, so between all of us and our cars we shouldn’t have any issues getting everything out before trick or treating.”
“You’re trick or treating?” Cameron asks, appearing out of the locker room.
“I’m taking my nephew. My sister has to work.” Ty explains, his sister is an ER nurse, and her husband is in Germany on a business trip.
“I also want to get home in time for Trick or Treat.” Deej explains. “Mack and I love handing out candy to the kids, they get so pumped to come to our house since we hand out ‘kick ass candy bags.’ I also like to wear my jersey and have thefamilies who don’t live in the neighborhood try to figure out if it’s really me or not.” He laughs. “I love seeing all the matching family costumes too.”
“I can’t wait for you two to get married and have kids.” Ty says. “You’re going to be great dads.”
Deej beams with pride. We all have been placing bets on when Deej is going to pop the question. He knows of the bet just not the dates everyone has picked, those are kept under lock and key so he can’t skew it in anyone’s favor.
“I seriously can’t thank you guys enough for helping with this. Ellie doesn’t want to admit it, but I know she’s upset. Especially since we’re out of town this weekend.”
“For what?” Cameron asks.
“Her brother is having a gender reveal for his first kid. They’re all really excited about it.” I don’t get to elaborate much since practice begins.
Ellie and Sadie are already at her apartment by the time our caravan of SUV and trucks arrive at the complex. They both took a half day, they both assure me that they would never dream of doing a sub dirty like this, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Ellie managed to get a storage unit on her lunch break and that’s where we will be taking most of her big furniture.
Unfortunately, parking is limited as everyone in her building is having to move out as well. We make quick work of her apartment carting all the big furniture to the storage unit in one trip. And since our mamas raised gentlemen, we end up helping several of her neighborspack up their apartments as well when we return. I wave to Reggie as he pulls out with a moving trailer.
Ellie is chatting with an elderly woman after I finish helping a young couple with an infant pack up their moving trailer.
“Helen, please call me if you need anything.” Ellie pleads with the woman.
“Oh, honey, you’re the sweetest. Don’t worry, I will be pestering you nonstop for photos of your boyfriend, you failed to mention how handsome he and his friends were!” I grin because Helen has managed to make Elle go from worried to exasperated on record time. “Once you’re settled in with your hunky man,” she shoots me a wink, “we will schedule our annual Christmas cookie day.”
Ellie smiles and gives the woman a hug before helping her into a van that Ty and Cameron finish loading with what appears to be Helen’s son.
Ellie waves them off as they pull out and then turns to me and the guys. “Thank you all so much. Can I buy you all pizza or something?”
“I can’t tonight.” Sadie says at the same time that Ty says:
“I’ll need to take a rain check. Ty gives Sadie a look and I’m left wondering if they’re going out together tonight.
“I appreciate it, but I’ll be disappointed if Mack hands out all the candy without me.” Deej says giving Ellie a hug. “Nextweekend, you can spoil us.”
We say our goodbyes and go our separate ways. Ellie follows me back to my building, Phil meets us there with some carts and helps us move Ellie’s stuff up. We put all of her boxes in one of the guestrooms and agreed to deal with unpacking tomorrow. Instead, we decide to put our swimsuits on and enjoy Halloween in the hot tub.
Slugging back a pumpkin beer, Ellie sets her bottle down and straddles my lap. “Everyone else turned down my offer to reward them, however, I didn’t hear you say no.” She plants kisses along my jaw to my neck. I instantly grow hard beneath her and her ministrations.
