“My dad served in the war with one of them. Apparently, they’ve been friends for years.” And yet not once have I ever heard of them.

“Wow. I can’t believe the Savage Knights are in your house. So, what are they like?”

Hot…. Intense… Terrifying.

“They’re younger than I imagined, and not at all what I pictured. I’d thought they’d have beer guts and beards down to their chests, but they’re all toned and kind of hot. The one who came into my room to work on my window may be the hottest guy I’ve ever seen.”

“Are you serious? Like hotter than Cooper?”

“By a long shot.” There’s no comparison. Cooper has the handsome, clean-cut, football-jock look. He’s tall, but nowhere near the giant that was standing in my room who was forcing my head back to look up at him. Cooper is cute. But Bones… He’s next-level hot. And looks like he should be featured onAmerica’s Most Wanted.

“Can you send me a picture? If he’s hotter than Cooper, then I have to see this guy.”

“I can try.”

I look back down to my driveway, but the two men are no longer standing there. One is out in the yard holding the end of a measuring tape by the tree. And Bones… He’s right below my window. I suck in a gasp, realizing he could’ve heard me talking. When his head lifts and our eyes connect, I think I have my confirmation. There’s a smirk tipped on his lips and a sinister gleam in his stare that rocks me with a chill. My skin prickleswith little nervous bumps, and I take a step back, away from my window. Far enough away where I can breathe.

“He’s outside,” I whisper as if he can still hear me. “I think he heard me, Teagan.” I was standing right by the wide-open window, and he was directly below.

“Well, at least you didn’t call them ugly ogres.”

“Yeah, but I was just confessing how hot he is.” That’s worse.

“It’s better to flatter a killer and get on his good side than piss him off.”

I doubt she’d be saying that if she were in my shoes. Embarrassment aside, that man is dangerous.

“So, does this mean you didn’t get the picture?”

“No, I didn’t get a picture! He was staring right up at me. It’s not like I was going to ask him to say cheese.” My stomach is a wreck just thinking about the look in his eyes. “If you want to see for yourself, you can come over after school tomorrow. They’re supposed to be here installing the new cameras.”

That dangerous man is going to be back in my room. I’m hoping that by the time I get home from school, he’ll be finished with that part of the job so I can hide in here with my friend.

“I’m definitely coming over. If you’re claiming this guy is hotter than Cooper, then I need to see him.”

He may be hotter than Cooper, but he’s also a lot more dangerous.

Bones

My hands clutch my grips tight as we wind back up the mountain, getting farther and farther away from my little obsession. Her words have been on repeat. She thinks I’m hot. The hottest guy she’s ever seen were her exact words. I was certain she was terrified of me, but when she peeked out her window and saw me staring up at her, she blushed. Those ivory cheeks turning bright pink as she realized I’d heard her confession. She darted away, and I wanted to climb the brick and get to her.

The gate opens and we all file in, coming to a stop in our line, parking our rides and shuttin’ off our engines. I quickly climb off.

“Need to get some shit done,” I bark before I’m storming inside, straight to my room.

I need to know every detail about the girl. Where she goes to school. Who her teachers are. What’s been posted about heronline. I need to know who she’s friends with. How she spends her time. Every single little detail: doctor, dentist, the person who cuts her hair. Even the girl she was speaking to on the phone. I’m going to do background checks on all of them. I need to ensure her safety. I need to know that there’s no one who has any malicious intent toward her.

As soon as I’m logged into my computer, I scour the internet. Obsessing for hours. Running background checks on all her teachers. Making lists of every friend on her social media accounts. Paying extra close attention to any male that she’s tagged in a photo with. There’s one picture that had me snapping the pen in half. He’s got his arm around her side, braced a little too close to her cute little tits. The image had me popping some blood vessels in my neck. I wanted to rip through the screen and strangle the kid. The thought of hunting him down and shooting him in the balls surfaced before I was able to get myself calmed down, reminding myself that these are just kids.

The person she’s in the most pictures with is a girl named Teagan Whitmeyer. It looks like the girls have been friends since they were young. I ran a check on her, and she’s in the clear. Comes from an average family, has never gotten into trouble, is a good student. From what I can tell, these girls spend most of their time together. They’re so many pictures of the two of them: in their cheerleading uniforms, in their homecoming dresses, in matching flannel pajamas with mud masks on their faces.

My mouse pauses on the screen. My heart hammering in my ears as I click on the thumbnail— and then she appears. In full HD color. Her beautiful face smiling right at me. Those eyes so alive and bright. No fear in their sage-green depths. The glow from the sun is a silhouette around her tiny frame, as if it’s praising her beauty.

My fists clench so tight I feel the nails digging into my palms, threatening to break skin. She’s wearing a light pink bikini.Every inch of her is so fucking flawless. All of her little curves are on full display.

I grip the mouse, nearly cracking the plastic as I click to expand the image. Zooming right in on the two spots I need to see. Two little peaks hidden beneath the thin material. It’s so light it’s almost white, revealing their rosy shade underneath. Every inch that’s beaded up from the chill of the water. And in the center of that perfect little mound is a tight nipple. Poking out proud. A small little peak for me to latch onto and draw the heat between her legs.
