“What, that I like doing sex stuff?”

That sassy little tone is back and my dick is perking at the sound.

“No, that you trust me. You’re innocent and sweet, and I’m dark and dangerous, yet you didn’t judge me by my cover, angel. You didn’t turn your nose up when you saw my tattoos or learned I was a Savage Knight. The way you look at me… It makes the muscle in my chest pound so hard.”

“My heart is racing too.”

“Do I make you nervous, baby?”

“A little. I… I’m a little worried that once you get what you want from me, you’ll disappear.”

Disappear? There’s not a chance in hell. She couldn’t get rid of me even if she wanted to.

“I think what you should really be worried about is the fact that my sick and depraved mind is contemplating kidnapping you and taking you far into the forest so no one can take you from me.” Her gasp has me smirking. I think it’s finally sinking in just how deep my addiction runs. “Your dad would never let a man like me be with you, but neither he nor my brothers will keep me from coming to you at night and giving you what you need.”

“Bones.”

“Yes, little one.”

“Can you kiss me now?”

I reach out and take the bottle of nail polish from her hand, placing it on her nightstand before I move back in. She’s already breathing harder as she anticipates what’s coming. I’m going to take my time, tease her nice and slow. I told her she was going to get a spanking tonight, but I now have other plans.

“Climb onto my lap, baby. This time, I want you to be in charge.”

She’s the one calling the shots tonight. I want her to explore her boundaries with me, and trust that I won’t push her too far.

She climbs up onto my lap, holding onto my broad shoulders, looking closely at my face. She’s studying my dragon tattoo, trailing the flames that wrap around my left eye.

“Why did you get this? Do you like dragons?”

I happen to like all mythical creatures. Fantasy books used to be my favorite, but that’s not why I chose that mark.

“I was born with an ugly birthmark that covered this side.” I take her hand and trace over the place on my neck all the way up to my cheek. “My mother used to say I was a hideous dragon.” She stiffens against me and I wrap her tighter in my arms, not wanting to upset her. “She would send me to my room every day, saying she couldn’t stand to look at me. And there I would sit and read.” Spending my afternoons and nights alone and doing everything I could to distract me from the pain.

“As soon as I turned seventeen, I emancipated myself and left home. The dragon is the reminder of my strength. I’m now the one capable of breathing fire.”

“That makes me sad, Bones.”

“That wasn’t my intention, angel.”

“I don’t like knowing that someone would be so cruel to you.”

At least my mother never beat me. Some of the brothers of the club have far worse tales than mine.

“They were only words, baby. They don’t mean anything. Besides, I’m much better off. I have a true family now. Brothers who care about me. Men who will risk their lives in order to protect me. And my mother is still living in her heap of a trailer, barely getting by.”

I know because I’ve looked her up. I scoured the web and all her accounts to see how the witch was doing. Unfortunately, I am not the one responsible for her demise. She did that all on her own. She’s been fired from so many jobs I’ve lost count. And every time, it’s because she was rude to someone and lashed outwith that wicked tongue. She still hasn’t learned that your words have consequences.

“What about your dad?”

“He’s still married and living his grand life with his family. My mother was just a sidepiece.” One of many from what I can tell. “And as soon as he found out she was pregnant, he ran.”

“Does his wife know about you?”

“Not that I know of. My mom tried to extort money out of him, but he filed a harassment suit and a restraining order, so unless she wanted to go to prison, she had to back off.”

“Wow. That’s so horrible. Does it upset you that he never wanted to have anything to do with you?”
