“She’s a nice woman. I like her no-nonsense approach. I don’t know Ivan, but he seems besotted by his grandchildren. He kinda creeps me out when he talks about punishing his men,” Scarlett admitted as Hank turned onto the worn road.
“Ivan and Victoria have connections to the mob. Chase doesn’t discuss it, and I don’t ask. They’ve done a bunch of good in this town, and heaven help you if you harm one hair on any of those kids’ heads. They’re a found family,” Ty explained.
“Like the mafia? For real?” she asked, half turning in her saddle.
“Yep. When they discuss their men, it’s a miniature army. Some went home to Russia and Ireland for a few months, but they’re heavily protected.”
“Wow. I’ve never met anyone in the mafia before,” she said, shocked. “I can’t believe Chase and Kassie allow them on the mountain.”
“It’s not my story to tell, but Victoria saved Kassie’s life several times. They’ve protected the town when a bunch of gang members from Seattle decided to visit Serenity. Don’t let Kassie fool you, she has fighting skills to rival a SEAL,” Ty said as he helped her down and grabbed the two quilts he packed.
“Don’t judge a book by its cover, then, huh? I don’t care. They’ve treated me wonderfully since I got here. I can tell she’s bossy, but I heard her speaking with Emma and Tori, and she sounds like a doting grandma.”
“They call them ‘grans’ around here. All those kids on the mountain have several,” he said, returning to Hank and pulling out the fishing poles.
Spreading one of the blankets on the ground, he placed everything on it. “Do you want to fish now?” he asked, setting the lines and adding bait.
“No. I want to enjoy this lovely day with you,” Scarlett said, holding out her arms. Ty dropped the poles at the blanket’s edge and walked toward her. They sat down, he opened the picnic basket and fed her grapes.
“Why does everything taste better with you?” she asked, lifting her face in the gentle breeze.
“Because when I make something for you, I do it with love,” he said, plopping another grape on her tongue.
He unwrapped the second blanket, covering her. Scarlett’s hand snaked into his lap and she traced the outline of his dick through his jeans.
“Where did you order all the hands today?” she askedcasually as he stared at her in amusement over her not-so-innocent conversation.
“They’re in the farthest field from here,” he replied. “Did you have something in mind?”
“Yeah, I do,” she said, climbing into his lap and straddling him. “I want to finish what we started earlier. At least I don’t have to worry about looking Rocker in the eyes after what he saw this morning.”
He chuckled as her fingers drifted below his shirt and she pulled it over his head. “You may not have that problem, but something tells me, Rocker will for some time to come.”
“You’ll have to tell me what he does. Usually, when he gets embarrassed or uncomfortable, he scrunches his nose and pinches it. It’s funny, I just recalled him doing it,” Scarlett said, skimming through Ty’s chest hair until she found his nipple. She played with it until it grew hard under her thumb.
“Two can play this game,” he taunted, removing her sweater. He shook his head when she wore no bra. “I see you want to cut right to the chase,” he murmured against her ear.
“You can’t leave a girl screaming with one orgasm and walk away. Besides, I told you I wanted it,” Scarlett said, kissing his shoulder and making her way up his neck.
He unbuttoned her pants and tapped her side to get her to stand. She shimmied out of her jeans, not wearing any panties. Scarlett appeared like a goddess with the lake and the brilliant colors of autumn behind her.
“You’re gorgeous,” she murmured when she reached out and he pulled her back down on the blanket, covering her with the second.
“How do you know when your friends keep saying I’m ugly?” he teased, as his thumbs grazed her nipples, causing her to inhale sharply.
“I asked Kassie. She says you’re likethe men on the mountain and belong in a magazine. I feel your muscles, and I can picture you in my mind. You’re one of the most beautiful men I have ever met.”
“The same thing can be said about you. Leo won’t know what to do if he hires you. You’ll be another redhead on the mountain, causing chaos,” Ty said, running his hands down her body, warming her. “You have goosebumps. Maybe we need to take this home.”
“I’m home. This has become one of my favorite places,” she whispered against his chest. “It’s not the cold causing them.”
“Your eyes remind me of the color of the lake. They’re brilliant blue, and when you turn, I see the tiniest hint of green,” he said, pulling her closer to share his warmth.
Scarlett pushed him back onto the ground. “Did you bring the condoms?”
“Yes,” he said, reaching into the bag and pulling one out. He set it beside them, enjoying her hands exploring him.
“Do you mind if I touch you like this? I want a full picture of you,” she said, tracing his legs.
