“Shit! You had me worried then. You know what Jim’s like for discretion and appropriateness, or maybe that’s just with me.”

“He does like things his way and definitely compliance,” Sara agreed.

Tasha nodded, unsure what to say, if anything.

“To put your mind at rest, I loved Jim when we were together and the sex was great, as it is with Lenny. I tried some of the more experimental things and most of them were not for me, including any regular spanking, bondage, some of the sex toys and anal sex.”

Tasha stared even more wildly with every revelation Sara made. Realisation dawned that she actually loved some of the things that weren’t for Sara, in fact, some of them she literally begged for.

“You really are a perfect match for Jim looking at your face now.”

Tasha cringed slightly. “Sorry, I feel I’ve pried now.”

“Don’t be silly. We should start a club,The Loves of Jim Maybury, Past and Present.” Laughed Sara.

Tasha laughed loudly at the idea. She liked it. “I have invited Amanda out for lunch next week and she is very concerned that Mr Maybury won’t like it.”

“He won’t,” said Sara seriously. “I’m a necessary evil as the mother to his children, but Amanda? In the office is fine, but socially? What if you and she compare notes? He wouldn’t like that, plus, she may rub off on you,” said Sara intriguingly.

“What do you mean rub off?”

“Well, for starters you may start calling him Mr Maybury at all times.” Sara laughed again.

“What is that all about?” asked Tasha rhetorically. “It is odd, but he likes to keep business and pleasure separate, so...”

“I suppose, but it’s still weird. She was married to him, she lived with him, slept with him every night, shared everything with him and then goes back to Mr Maybury. Anyway, look, I like you, Jim loves you and the kids adore you too, and I have never seen Lizzie so content to be around one of Jim’s wives and she does what you tell her to, which is a miracle in itself.”

“I’m not his wife and I love the kids, they’re a credit to you both.” Her mind was still on the cane.

“You’ll be his wife though. Everyone can see how much you mean to each other and Jim does love a wedding. Let me drop you off. I’ve decided that I’ll find my own job so I need to get all of my stuff together and see who is looking for an experienced paediatric nurse in this town and reintroduce my husband to his mistress.” She called for the bill. “My treat, cheaper than therapy,” she said as she threw some notes down.

Tasha text Jim as they were leaving.

Tasha explained that Jim was meeting her there and just as she and Sara had hugged and kissed outside they saw him striding towards them. He kissed Tasha on the lips and then Sara on the cheek.

“I have to go, but you two have fun.” Sara grinned at Tasha as she hurried off to her car.

“What the hell have you done to my ex-wife, she looks different?”

“We just talked, but she has changed since this morning. However, I don’t really want to talk to you about your ex-wife, especially not with what we have planned for the afternoon.” She smiled up at him, took his hand and walked purposefully down the street.

“I will take a rain check on the conference table, but we’ll get you an engagement ring and we will not be going home until you have one,” he replied.

“Only if we find the right one,” she protested.

“Baby, we will not be going home without one, not after you finally, readily agreed to it last night and I assume that was down to my more romantic, ‘suitable for polite conversation’ proposal.”

Tasha laughed. “Possibly.”

They were buzzed into a very exclusive and expensive jewellers and as they stood with an assistant Tasha began shifting nervously from one foot to the other while swallowing hard.
