Why wasn’t he kissing her? Was he giving her space? He’d said he would always be hers, but that didn’t necessarily mean he wanted to be together. Should she be brave and tell him what she was thinking?

She looked away to fidget with her hands, not knowing how to begin the conversation they needed to have.

“Ena, I—” Ty began, seeming unsure too. She looked back up at him, drawn to the uncharacteristic vulnerability in his voice. “I don’t know where we stand, or what’s going on in your head after…everything. I know you came to help with the amulet, and I’m so grateful for that. But I need you to know…”

Ena’s heart lodged in her throat. Was he about to say he didn’t want to be with her? That they couldn’t be, that it was too complicated? Was this him letting her down gently?

And then he reached out and took her hand in his. His palms were warm and steady, and the feel of them enveloped her.

“I know things are complicated, and they’re about to get even more so. So, if you want to just make this about breaking the bond, and not about us, I’ll understand. But I don’t want to push you away anymore. I can’t. Every second we’re not together, every second I’m not touching you, or kissing you, is like torture. I meant what I said in Occidens. I’m yours, and I always will be. If you’ll have me.”

Ena’s heart ached at his words, and she felt tears prickle in her eyes. How on earth was she meant to respond to that? She had no words, so she did the only thing she could think to do—the only thing she felt like doing.

She leaned forward and kissed him.

He smelled like woodsmoke and honey, cedar and stone, and she breathed him in like he was the only air she would ever need. Ty inhaled sharply as their lips came together, breathing her in too, before bringing his hand up and cradling the side of her face.

Ena felt herself falling into it, wanting to get lost in his kiss, but she had something to say too, so she stopped herself and pulled away, looking deep into his eyes.

“I meant what I said also. I’m yours, Ty, and I want to be with you. In every way,” Ena said quietly, her heart feeling lighter than air at finally being able to speak the feeling out loud.

Ty smiled widely, the joy and relief evident in his eyes, before pulling her into him and kissing her again, fiercer this time. His tongue parted her lips, entering her mouth as his warm taste filled her. Ena had been waiting for this every day since the last time they’d kissed, and she gave herself over to it completely.

Their kiss deepened as his tongue swirled and teased around hers, driving her absolutely mad as he wrung her body tighter and tighter. Ena whimpered a little, leaning further into Ty’s body until her breasts were pressed against him. He hummed low in his throat at the contact, then reached out to grab one of her breasts, stroking his thumb over her nipple in a way that made her clit throb.

“Wait,” Ena said breathlessly, suddenly realizing where they were and pulling back again. “Are you sure we should do this…here? Turner’s right there,” she whispered, looking pointedly in the man’s direction.

Ty never took his eyes off her, his gaze dark and commanding. “Turner sleeps like the dead. He won’t wake for anything,” he said, his voice low.

“And Steig?” Ena asked shyly. “Won’t he sense us? You know, with his Power?” She knew hiscupidocould amplify lust, and that meant he had a heightened sense for it as well.

Ty gave her a wicked look, the corner of his full mouth tipping up in such a way that made her want to bite his lip until she drew blood.

“So let him sense us,” Ty said, raising his eyebrow in challenge.

Gaia, this man. He knew her too well. She could never back down from his challenges.

Besides, it wasn’t like she hadn’t engaged in her share of public displays of affection before—her tryst with Cris at Samhain last year was a fairly recent example of that—but this…with the others so close. For some reason, the thought made her heart beat faster with excitement, and only added to that throbbing ache between her legs.

She met Ty’s eyes and nodded slowly at him.Yes.

“Lay down on your side, viper,” he told her without hesitation.

She did as commanded, laying down so her back was to the wall and she could see the whole cavern, with the small fire, their packs and supplies scattered about, and Turner asleep on the other side.

Ena swallowed as she felt Ty lay down behind her, his hard chest at her back, before slipping his muscular arm under her head as a cushion. Then she felt his other hand slowly pull her dress up, exposing her pussy to the cold air of the cave.

“Just tell me if you want me to stop,” Ty whispered in her ear, but there was no way she wanted to stop. She felt her clit throb as wetness filled her. “Nod if you understand me,” he said. She’d never heard his voice sound quite like that before. So in control. Every word a promise and a challenge.

She nodded her understanding.

He brought his hand around to her front, drawing circles with his finger just above where she so desperately wanted to be touched.

Then he moved his finger lower, right over her clit, grazing over it gently, before dipping his finger ever so slightly inside her. He brought the tip of his wet finger back to her clit, swirling it around in tight circles that drove her mad.

She had to stop herself from moaning loudly at the feeling, instead grunting in a choked-sounding way as her hips bucked involuntarily into his hand.

“I bet you’re so fucking wet for me, aren’t you, Ena?” he said, his voice low and tight with desire.
