He brushed some hair from the side of my face and tucked it behind my ear.

“Apparently, you’re not even meant to want this,” I replied.

Gray let out a low rumble of laughter as his thumb trailed along my jaw.

“You’re going to get us in trouble,” I breathed. “Aren’t you in enough trouble after what happened outside?”

“Ignacio’s fine,” Gray said, shrugging. “He’ll get me back at some point.”

His hand rested against my neck, and I was sure he could feel the unsteady thrum of my pulse underneath his rough palm. Gray guided me gently to a more secluded corner, and my feet obliged.

“You didn’t answer me, Scott,” Gray pressed. “Are you going to heed my brother’s warning?”

He was so close that his lips brushed against mine with every word, and my hands rested on his chest. The sense of peace Gray brought with him muffled several alarm bells that blared in my head. Every time we were close, every time Gray laid his hands on me, he chipped away at my resolve and left me feeling out of my depth.

“Because you don’t strike me as the type of person who listens to others,” Gray said, smirking.

My nature was curious. I rarely believed what people told me at face value. I hated being told what to do. Between Sloan and Erik tonight, I was hanging on to my will by my fingertips.

Gray’s voice was at my ear, causing my hairs to stand on end. “All you have to do is ask, Scott.”

He pulled back from me so that I could see the glint in his eye.

What would be so bad about giving in? The world wouldn’t end. It might even help to clear my head.

“What do you want, Scott?” he pressed.

I’d never had a problem telling people what I wanted or what I needed, but I’d avoided things with Gray because of the way he was. Insufferable and arrogant. But we were adults. This wasn’t a relationship. We were both after sex.

“Gray,” I said.

“Scott?”

I let go of the last strand of resolve. “Take me home and fuck me.”

I wasn’t asking him; I was telling him.

The growl that came from Gray stirred a heat low in my stomach and he glanced up before we were wrapped in black and appeared outside my bedroom door.

Gray’s lips crashed down upon mine and my arms wrapped around his neck as I kicked off my heels. My tongue traced across his bottom lip before he let me in, battling for dominance. Gray pinned me up against the doorframe, and my fingers tugged at his hair. As he dipped down and kissed along my bare shoulder and up my neck, I flushed. A soft moan escaped my lips as he hit a sensitive spot of skin.

When we broke apart, Gray’s blue eyes were entirely black. The wisps of his aura surrounded us. He was no longer in control. It made my heart thud uncomfortably in my chest to see him as more God than mortal, hammering home just what I was about to do and who I’d be doing it with.

“This is what you want, Scott,” he told me.

“I know.”

We’d arrived at this point simply because neither of us could resist any longer. Because I couldn’t resist him any longer. We’d finally get what each of us desired.

Orange blossom. Peach. Honey.

The three distinct scents wrapped around my senses as I leaned in towards Scott. Her eyes fluttered shut, and I wasted no time in closing the gap by kissing her.

The hesitancy rolled off her in waves. As bold as I was, I’d never force myself on a woman. But when the moan escaped her lips, it took all my self-control not to pick her up and fuck her against the door.

“How many times have you thought of me, Scott?” I asked. “How many times have I been in your head while you pleasured yourself?”

The apples of her cheeks turned red, and she remained silent.
