I salute him and move as quickly as I can to grab a pair from Angel’s suitcase.
When I return, Anthony is already in the car, waiting to be taken to the warehouse. I slip in next to him, and he pats my leg.
“Good boy.”
When we arrive at the warehouse where the shipments of cocaine are processed, the Andromeda twins are already there, dressed in all black, looking as goth as ever. Their hair is a little different from when I last saw them, but it looks nice.
They have very nice skulls. I’d display them side by side if I ever got hold of them.
“Love the hair,” I say as I approach.
They both turn to look at me, their gray eyes moving across my body at the same time.
“Hello, Bane Doe. How are you?”
“Good. Love the shirts.”
“Thank you,” Ezra says. “Laz got them for us.”
“Laz?” I ask, and then gasp. “Oh, is this the man you found alive? Oh, how exciting. When can I meet him?”
They nod in sync and stand up. “He’s not ready to meet people yet. But would you like to see a picture? He’s very pretty,” Ezra says.
“The prettiest,” Cain adds.
Ezra holds up his phone, and I glance down at the screen. It’s a picture of a young man asleep, his pink lips parted, arms sprawled out beside him. He looks like a porcelain doll. Very nice bone structure.
“Oh, you’re right. He’s very pretty. Very nice eyelashes.”
“He is perfection.”
“And an anomaly.”
“He shouldn’t have lived.”
“He’s like a zombie.”
“I love a good zombie romance,” I say, and they both nod their heads.
“He’s as pretty as a zombie,” Cain says as Anthony clears his throat.
“Andromeda. Can we get this body removed?” he asks, and the twins stare at him until he sighs.
“Shit, not another fucking demand.” He runs a hand over his face.
I giggle and then move toward the body, looking down at the older man who is lying crumpled on the ground.
“I don’t know if he has anything I want to keep,” I say.
I peel his lips back and sigh when I see nothing interesting. Not even a gold tooth.
“Agreed. He will be easy to dispose of,” Ezra replies. “Those are my favorite.”
“I do like a surprise though. One time, I found a pierced tongue.”
Cain and Ezra nod and then look at me for so long that I meet their stares with one of my own.
“What?”
