Ah, my clever omega. “Always, sweetheart.Yourpleasure.Yourneeds.Yourrelease. Your desires are what makes me happy, and even more, knowing I’m the one to fulfill them.”
“And me,” Talon added, a hint of amusement in his dry tone. “My dragon likes control too, but thankfully not as strongly as Slade’s. Otherwise, we’d be in trouble here.”
Emme looked between the both of us. “Should we— is it better to do this apart? I don’t want…” She broke off again, as if searching for the right words. “I don’t want to take away from this moment with either of you by doing this together to save time.”
Until I met my twin, there would be none I’d have shared this moment with. Not even Hunter.
It wasn’t in my nature.
I was too dominant, and would be a danger to any who touched my mate during my time to claim her. But Talon was different. He was the other half to my soul, and our beasts knew we needed to do this together.
“Together,” Talon confirmed, the word echoing through our mental bond.
A smile split Emme’s face, and with it a sprinkle of nerves, but she didn’t back away.
“We will do this together, and it has nothing to with the witches,” I told her, needing to set her mind at ease. She hadn’t said anything, but I knew the way she thought. “I would be claiming you today, curse or no curse, Snow.”
She choked back a happy sob, and I wrapped her up in my arms once more.
My dragon needed his mate, and so did I.
Emmeline would be ours today in all ways, and nothing would fucking stop us.
CHAPTER 6
EMME
With its acres of black and white marble, huge living and kitchen, and floor-to-ceiling windows that showcased half of Golden Claw, Slade’s apartment was the epitome of money and class. But the awe I’d felt stepping through that entrance had nothing on the moment he finally kissed me.
Our first kiss. I’d waited a long time to have him lose control and devour me with the same desperate need I felt for him, and it was well worth the wait.
The dragon shifter was huge everywhere.
His scent and energy poured through me until the tethers of my existence rearranged to connect with him. There was no evidence of his touch aversion, and absolutely no evidence that he’d never kissed anyone before.
On slightly wobbly knees, my panties and tights soaked fromone fucking kiss,I let him lead me deeper into the apartment. A space already laced in the scents of chocolate, honey, marshmallow, and maple.
The heat of their internal fires warmed the rooms, despite the clear evidence of no one being here for a long time. A layer of dust permeated the air and furniture, but as Slade passed through each area, he swept up every speck. Goosebumps covered my skin as his power caressed me, and I knew I’d just experienced the closest thing to magic a regular shifter would get.
“That’s why no one cleans your room,” I said, blinking at the now spotless surfaces.
Slade shot a slow, amused smile over his shoulder. “Exactly, mate. I don’t need anyone in our space.”
Our. Space.
“I—” I was a damn stuttering mess around this shifter. “I don’t understand.”
I mean, I did understand what that meant, but I desperately needed him to explain.
His hand landed on the back of my neck again, in a firm, possessive hold, and I almost melted under his commanding presence. “My territory is open for you and Talon only. The rest of our pack knows to wait for permission, but neither of you need to ever ask. It’s my nest, and since you’re the other parts of my soul, it’s also yours.”
Talon’s dragon let out a rather impressive growl, which Slade returned so rapidly that it had to be instinct. Just seeing the two of them together healed cracks in my heart that I hadn’t even known were there.
This entire day was going to be healing. Talon had already bonded us through the bite, but we would reconfirm that today without any magical influence behind it. And Slade, the last holdout from my pack, would finally be mine.
It was overwhelming to know that our quintet would soon be completed.
There was also a slight sense of awkwardness, as I hadn’t really planned my other bondings. They’d been more spontaneous.
