Her smile was beautiful. “The absolute best. I’m one lucky girl to have found light in my darkness. I think that was mom’s doing.”

I gave her hand one last squeeze, and then, thankfully, the conversation shifted to something a little lighter.

“Tell us how you and Jace reconnected after all these years apart,” Lydia said.

Okay, maybe not lighter, but different…

“Um…” I glanced at Jace, who was sipping his whiskey with a smirk on his lips. “Uh… it was an accident, actually. I bumped into Rhett outside a club and didn’t know who he was.”

Tess laughed. “I bet his ego took that well.”

Jace found my hand under the table, his fingers linking with mine. “We had a bit of a rough reunion,” he admitted honestly, if a little understated, “and it took some time to work through some pretty heavy misunderstandings. But we’re stronger for it, now. I’m just glad Billie could be patient with me.”

I met his tender gaze, my heart in my throat as I nodded my agreement. I couldn’t have spoken even if I’d tried, so I just leaned in to brush a light kiss across his lips instead.

He returned my kiss, then reluctantly released me since we were sitting at the dinner table with his parents watching us. Awkward.

“Well, it looks like things worked out,” Lydia commented with a gentle smile on her lips. “I couldn’t be happier for you both. Even with all his success and fame, Jace was never quite as happy as he was with his Rose, isn’t that right, Greg?”

Jace’s dad gave a curt nod of agreement, sniffing like he was getting a bit choked up himself. “That’s right, Liddy.” He raised his glass to us in a toast. “Here’s to you two, Jace and Billie. Don’t waste this second chance.”

“Not a chance,” Jace whispered, his eyes on mine even as he clinked glasses with his dad. I blushed and tapped my glass with everyone’s, then took a sip right as Lydia asked her next question.

“So, when can we expect wedding bells and a baby?”

I choked on my Champagne. It went right up into my nasal passage, making me cough and splutter in a seriously unattractive way.

“You okay, babe?” Jace asked with a grin, handing me his napkin.

Holy hell, Champagne in the sinusesburned. “Fine,” I croaked. “Yep, good. All good. I’m just… uh… excuse me a moment.” I was still coughing, my eyes watering and running my mascara, so I slid out of my seat and hurried to the restroom to clean myself up.

I’d barely finished wiping up the dark smudges under my eyes when the door swung open again. The ladies’ room had multiple stalls, so I didn’t even look over until Jace grabbed my waist.

“Jace!” I exclaimed as he spun me around and boosted my butt onto the long counter in front of the mirrors. “What are—” My question cut off as he kissed me, and I melted into his embrace. My knees fell open, and he surged closer, his hands sliding up my thighs.

“I warned you, Rose,” he murmured against my lips. “I’m so fucking hard right now. All I’ve been able to think about is how to get you alone.”

I gasped as his hard length ground against me, his suit pants straining with the bulge. “Jace, we can’t! Anyone could come in and see us!”

“Then we should be quick about it,” he replied with a devious smirk, his hands pushing my skirt right up over my hips. “Billie… Rose… where are your panties?”

It was my turn to grin, and he dragged his lower lip through his teeth as he moaned a curse. Then in a flurry of motion, he loosed his belt loosed and thrust his thick cock into my aching cunt. All good sense flew out the window as I wrapped my legs around him, leaning my shoulders back against the mirror to pull us closer together.

“Jace…” My voice was pure lust. “Holy fuck, you feel so good.”

“Hold on, baby girl. I wanna make you fall apart before we get caught.” His voice was low and rough, his hips rocking as he started to fuck me right there on the vanity. Just the idea of getting caught had me so worked up and tense I already knew it wouldn’t be hard to make me come.

His mouth claimed mine as he thrust hard and fast, my high heels hooked together behind him to hold on tight. At some point, I thought I heard the door open, but when I peeled my lids open, there was no one there, so I said nothing and continued to kiss my guy. Continued to rock against his intense rhythm as he chased both our releases.

“Fuck, Rose,” he moaned a few moments later. “Tell me you’re close; I need to feel your sweet pussy locking up on my cock.”

I nodded, kissing his throat. “Close,” I agreed, “really close. Don’t stop, Jace. Don’t fucking stop for anything; I’m right there…” He continued pounding me into the mirror, and a split second later I spiraled into a hot, hard orgasm. My walls spasmed, clenching around his dick just like he liked, and then he slammed deep as he joined me in sweet release. His cum pumped into me, and he gasped out a curse.

“That was dangerous,” I whispered, licking my buzzing lips with a gasp. “We could have been caught. Then kicked out. Then your family would know what we were doing.”

He smirked, smoothing a hand through my messed-up hair. “It won’t be hard to guess as it is, Rose.” Then he leaned in and kissed me sweetly, his cock still twitching inside me. “I love you so much it hurts. Even if it takes our whole lifetimes, I’ll prove that I’m worth the second chance.”

My pulse raced even harder, and tears pricked at my eyes. “You’ve already proven it, Jace. But tell your mom to cool it on the marriage and babies talk, okay? She must not know I’m also in love with your whole freaking band.”
