“Are you serious?” I tilted my head and looked at him sideways. “No more Patron shots for you. You talkin’ some crazy shit.”

“Bro, yo ass is a trip, real talk.”

We both laughed then finished off our beers. Before we could order another round, the hostess’ buzzer went off in his hand and started flashing, letting us know that our table was ready. We walked over to the hostess stand then a waiter waved us over to him, so that we could follow him to a table.

As we were headed to our table, I thought I saw Ava. Shaking it off, I thought I was tripping from the Patron and beer I just had, but when I looked closer, I realized that it was her because she was sitting next to her demon seed of a sister. I could tell that they were sitting at the same table with two guys, but I couldn’t see their faces because their backs were facing me. I instantly saw red.

“Motherfucking bitch! Dude, you see what I see?” I asked, tapping Tate on the shoulder as we headed in the direction that Ava was sitting in.

She hadn’t noticed me, but I damn sure noticed them. She looked stunning and happy, and that shit had me hot all over again. She and Dawn both were radiating with happiness and cheer. Just the fact that she was out enjoying herself on our divorce day was some bullshit.

“What you talkin’ about… those big ass whole crabs they be havin’? You wanna order one and we split it?” Tate asked, causing me to smack my lips.

“Nah, man! Look straight ahead,” I responded.

“Oh, shit!” Tate whispered. “Ah, you straight? You wanna go somewhere else?”

“Nah, we done waited long enough to eat, plus it’s late. This some motherfucking bullshit though! See what I mean?” I mumbled.

I couldn’t believe she was out having the time of her life on the day that our divorce was granted. What the fuck was that about? It took everything in me not to walk up to Ava and snatch her up out of her seat. She was lucky I was still recovering from hip surgery, and I wouldn’t be able to take all four of them on because that was exactly what it would have turned to if that wasn’t the case. When we got close to their table, I saw that one of the dudes was the same nigga that had answered her door the other night.

“I told you she was fucking that dude!” I spat angrily. “That’s the same motherfucker that was at her house when I went by.”

“Bro, just be chill,” Tate responded.

The waiter stopped at a booth that was at a corner to the table Ava, and the get-a-long gang were seated at. Breathing heavy trying to control myself, I took a seat in the booth and put my head in my hands.

“I can give you guys a minute, then come back to get your drink orders if you want,” the waiter said.

“You can bring us two Heinekens to start,” Tate responded. “Dude, you need to get yourself together. If that is the case and she has moved on, then you need to do the same.”

“Don’t start, Tate. My damn wife?—”

“Ex-wife,” Tate corrected.

“Ex-wife is sitting across the room with some thug. I have every right to be pissed. The ink ain’t even dry on our divorce papers yet, and she done moved on. Who the fuck does that shit!”

“A woman scorned… that’s who.”

Tate was right, and if that wasn’t an eyeopener that I had fucked up, I didn’t know what was. As much as I tried to controlmyself, I couldn’t help looking over to the table at Ava. From the angle we were sitting at, her and her sister’s backs were facing us and the dudes they were entertaining were facing us. The dude that was sitting across from Ava caught me staring at them and gave me a mean mug. I looked away quickly, but when I looked back their way, he was still muggin’ me. At that point, I had lost it.

“Hold up, I’ma be right back,” I said, sliding out of my seat then turned to head in their direction.

“Yo, what you doin’, bro?!” Tate asked, getting out of his seat. He reached out and grabbed my arm trying to stop me, but I snatched away and proceeded to head to their table anyway. The whole time, dude was looking at me crazy, and Tate was following behind me.

I was about two tables away when Ava and Dawn both turned around in their seats. Ava and Dawn both had disgusted looks on their faces.

“What the hell are you doing here, Justin?” Ava spat, standing up from her seat.

When she stood up, everyone else at her table stood up.

“I should be asking you the same question! So, this is what you’re on, huh! You went out and divorced me to move on with this nigga!” I sneered, looking from her to dude.

The alcohol that I had drunk was starting to give me all the courage I needed to confront them all.

“Watch yourself, bruh!” dude said.

“Justin, you need to take your tired ass on,” Dawn interrupted, causing me to mean mug her. Before I could say anything to her, the other guy at the table chimed in.
