“You the one that’s married, nigga!”
“Watch it, my dude.”
“Shit, we can call this shit quits, I wouldn’t give a good gotdamn! I didn’t even call you to get into it with your ass. I was calling to give you a heads up that she was on her way home. But if you gon’ be with the shits with me, fuck it! I’m out!”
“Hol’ up, I didn’t mean to upset you. You just be talkin’ crazy sometimes, and you know how I feel about that shit. I never said anything about us not seeing each other anymore. You said that shit. I may have slipped up once, but I’ll never do anything to get us both caught up. I ain’t that damn careless.”
“Hell nigga, I can’t tell ‘cause yo ass is for damn sure caught up now.”
“Like I said, it was one little slip up. I can assure you that it won’t happen again,” I said.
“Well, you need to make sure ‘cause I ain’t tryna beef with my friend over no dick. It’s too many niggas out here I can fuck on than to be risking my friendship over you.”
“Why you always gotta talk shit, Shane?”
“Nigga, I ain’t talkin’ shit. I’m speaking real facts to yo ass. Hell, you need to know where we stand ‘cause yo ass was the one that got caught slippin’, not me. So, don’t be coming at me about I’m wrong about a damn thing!” Shane rambled, working my nerves with his dramatic, slick talking ass.
“Okay, I hear you. Damn, my bad! Chill out, will ya? You gon’ catch a whole aneurysm gapping out.”
“I’m just sayin’, so we both clear.”
“Thanks for giving me a heads up,” I responded, not wanting to continue to go back and forth with him any longer.
“Yeah, whatever. Have you at least thought about what you gon’ tell her? ‘Cause you gon’ have to fess up to doing wrong. I hope you know that.”
“I mean, yes and no. I’ma apologize, but I ain’t about to tell it all.”
“Boy, yo ass playin’ with fire!” Shane said with a laugh.
“I got this. I told you I was going to get her a puppy, so I did. That should help me smooth things out with her. Once she sees this little puppy, I’ma be back in like Flynn. Watch what I tell you. If I know anything, I know my wife. Ava pulled this little stunt for attention, but her ass ain’t really tryna leave me cause if she was, she would’ve been left.”
“Okay, Mr. Arrogant, if you say so.”
“What you mean, I know so!” I huffed full of pride, feeling myself because I knew Ava like I knew the back of my hand.
“Ha! Okay!”
“You act like you know something. What she tell you?”
“She really didn’t tell me much of shit other than what happened. When she found that condom wrapper it really hurt her, so get ready to do some beggin’ ‘cause sista girl is pissed.”
“We gon’ see about all that. Well, let me go. I hear the garage door opening now so she’s home.”
“Okay, boo. Keep me posted.”
“I’m sure if I don’t, she will. Talk to you later. Thanks again for the heads up.”
Hanging up with Shane, I prepared myself to deal with Ava once she walked through the door. I knew I had to get my story straight because Shane was right about one thing, and that was I had slipped. I should have been way more careful than I was. While I waited for Ava to come into the house, I went to the bathroom to relieve myself. Just as I was finishing up I heard the dog barking and Ava talking to him. Finishing up then washing my hands, I headed for the kitchen where she and the dog were at.
“We need to talk, Justin,” she replied, putting the puppy down then patting and rubbing on his stomach.
I agreed a hundred percent that we needed to talk because I didn’t think it was cool of her to just up and leave like she did. We ended up arguing, going back and forth ‘cause I wasn’t aboutto let up. She was going to tell me where she was whether she wanted to or not.
When she got to talking, “all that she needed was some time to herself” bullshit, it was starting to really piss me off. That was one of the things that frustrated me the most about Ava. She never owned up to her shit but stayed nagging the hell out of me about every little thing I did. At the end of the day, I chose to apologize because I was wrong and should’ve been more careful to making sure, I threw away any evidence that could get my ass caught up.
I even tried arguing the fact that she had no business searching through my shit because I never searched through her stuff, but she wouldn’t let up. She just kept coming at me left and right about that damn condom wrapper that her ass shouldn’t have ever seen in the first place. Ava was beyond pissed. So much so that me getting her a dog didn’t even help me out whatsoever. Before I knew it, I was begging and pleading sounding like a straight bitch asking for her forgiveness.
What really got me was when she walked off. Talking about how she still didn’t know what she wanted to do about us working things out then leaving me alone in the kitchen. At that point, I knew that I had to fight for my marriage and be on my best behavior to get her to change her mind. I loved my wife, that was no lie, but I needed her to stay with me because having her on my side made me feel manly.
