“Fuck, Ciara.” Ronan’s face is a picture of agony.
“Come with me.”
Ronan braces his hands on the headboard, the muscles in his forearms flexing as he brings us both to the edge.
I could never get tired of such a sight. Ronan’s eyebrows pulled together, his teeth gritted as he tries and fails to hold back. His powerful body slick with sweat, every muscle taut as he moves inside me.
It’s enough to make me climax. I clench around him.
“Fuck, that’s it, Ciara. Come on my cock.”
“Ronan!”
Ronan slams into me and then he’s coming too. He pulses inside me as he empties himself, sending another wave of pleasure through me and making me clench again.
“That’s it, take every drop,” he grunts as he continues to pump his hips.
Only when we’re both covered in sweat and gasping for air does Ronan lower my legs to the bed and lean forward to untie me.
“Come here.” He wraps his arms around me and pulls my back flush against his chest. “That was incredible.”
I sigh at his warm, hard body wrapped around me.
Ronan chuckles before kissing along my shoulder. “I can’t imagine my life without you.”
“Then I guess it’s a good thing I’m not going anywhere.”
Ronan tightens his arms around me and presses a kiss to my temple. “I want to marry you, Ciara.”
I turn over to face him. “Hate to break it to you, but we’re already married.”
“I want to marry you again, with a real wedding.” He pushes up onto his elbows to look at me properly.
I half expect to see a mischievous glint in his eye, but there isn’t one. He’s deadly serious.
“Ronan…”
“I want our vows to actually mean something. I want to stand in front of our family and friends and tell them all how much I love you.”
I reach up to cup Ronan’s face. “There is nothing in the world I want more than that.”
Chapter Forty
RONAN
I don’t wantto leave Ciara’s side this morning because I know the moment I do, I’ll be pulled right back into the darkness and violence of my world. Right now, I just want to hold my sleeping wife in my arms and listen to the sound of her steady breathing.
It’s going to take some time for us to move past the events of last night. Ciara might say she’s fine, but the reality is she witnessed me kill two men without so much as flinching.
I’m terrified that she’s going to wake up and look at me differently now that the adrenaline has worn off.
When the sun finally starts to seep in through the curtains, I know I can’t put off my duties any longer. I gently slide my arms out from around Ciara, making sure not to wake her, and get dressed before heading downstairs.
I find Brennan and Cormac in the kitchen, huddled around the island drinking espressos. Neither of them looks like they’ve slept, though I’m sure I don’t look much better.
“Where’s Kieran?”
Cormac looks up at me. “He’s with Finn.”
