“There is no staff left,” Mason says. “Nathaniel handled most of them. And the ones he left.” His voice trails off, but he didn’t have to finish his sentence.

There are a lot of things Mason did that he won’t tell us. He carries a lot more on his shoulders than we do. He was fourteen when we left Bone’s and immediately responsible for two eleven-year-olds and a fucking seven– year-old. That shit wasn’t easy. But he did it as if it were nothing. For the first year and a half, he did it with no help. When Nathaniel finally found us, things changed, but it still wasn’t perfect.

“We will find this Horseman,” Mason says. “Until then, we stay vigilant. If he’s working with others, that means it’s more than likely one of your enemies. I think it’s time we flushed them out. Let’s put a little pressure on them. See who slips up first.”

I nod. I was already thinking of ways to piss a few people off.

The knock on my door had us turning to the person walking in. Doc was a short, balding man. He was maybe in his mid-fifties and a damn good doctor.

“How is she?” I ask as soon as he walks in.

“She’s fine. A few cuts and bruises, but she will survive. I gave her a pill to calm her nerves.”

I let out a deep sigh. It’s not that I thought she was dying or anything. I checked her over thoroughly before we even left the restaurant.

“And her wrist?”

“Mild sprain. It should be back in full use in about a week or two.”

“Thanks, Doc.” Mason climbs to his feet to shake the man’s hand. “I’ll tip you extra for the late-night call.”

Doc waves his hand through the air. “No need. You boys are family. Saint, the missuses is asking for you.”

I nod my head at him. I’d already sent him the money for the call before he showed up here. And despite what he said, Mason and I will both send him a tip.

“I’ll be on my way,” Doc says.

“Jake, see him out.” Jake quickly sees to my bidding.

He quickly escorts the Doc out of the office.

Mason turns back to us. “We’re no longer waiting for this muthafucker to strike again. He wants our attention, we will give it to him. Start narrowing down Saint’s list of enemies. Someone out there is helping the Horseman. I think our best bet is to start with the missing guns.”

I agree. The fact that the Horseman mentioned everything that has happened to me so far tells me he is behind all of it. If I find out who took my guns, I’m one step closer to finding the Horseman.

“My men are trying to find the captain of the cargo ship. As soon as we do, I’ll…”

Mason cuts me off. “Ghost is going to send that information to Grant. And you are going on vacation.”

What the fuck. “Vacation? We’re in the middle of a war. I’m not going on a fucking vacation.”

“Your wife was almost blown to fucking smithereens. She deserves a got damn vacation.”

His words sting, but they are true. After this ordeal, I know Tiffany is going to be shaken to the core. She needs a mental break, because until we find out who is behind the attack, I can’t guarantee they will stop.

“Mase is right,” Salv says. “We will handle everything here. Take my sister and nephew and get the fuck away for a while.”

Running a hand down my face. “Yeah. Okay.”

Mason dips his chin. “I’ll send a few more of my men with you. Take her to the island. We can have the jet gassed up and ready to go in the morning.”

We all own a cluster of islands off the coast of St. Croix. We don’t get out to them much, but whenever we need to disconnect from the world, those islands are where we go.

“Go handle your woman, Boss,” Ghost says. “Roc and I will get Grant the information he needs and set everything up for the flight tomorrow.”

No matter how hard it was to step back and let my brothers handle my shit, I knew they were right. My concern right now should be Tiffany and Noah. And the most important of the two at the moment is Tiffany.

I make my way upstairs. Stopping by my son’s room first, I find it empty. Heading over to our room, Tiffany is sitting up in bed. Her head is back against the headboard, her legs are under the covers, and her hands are down in her lap.
