“Why go after Nico first?” Salv asks.
I think over that question for a moment. I’m no less guilty than my other brothers. And we all have businesses that could be attacked. Then it dawns on me.
“Because I’m the only one with a wife and son. He went after the easier target. Fuck,” I snarl, running a hand through my hair.
Kazimir pulls his phone out of his pocket as he quickly walks out of the office.
“Where is he going?” I ask.
“To call Savannah.” Salv stares at the closed door behind his brother. “You’re not the only one with someone that can be hurt.”
Shit. I forgot about that. Kazimir is the only one of us who still has ties to his old life. I rub a hand down my face.
“When’s the last time he talked to her?” Mason asks.
Salv turns back to face us. “He called the same day you told us about Tiffany leaving and the letter, but he hasn’t heard back yet.”
“Is that normal?” I ask.
“For Savannah? Yes. When she’s not pissed at him, it usually takes her a few weeks to return his calls. When she’s mad, well, it takes months.”
“Is she mad?”
Salv grins at Mason. “He dismembered her boyfriend after he found out the guy put his hands on her. He sent the pieces to the dude’s family.”
Mason rolls his eyes. I chuckle as I shake my head. Kazimir walks back into the office.
“Did she answer?” I ask.
He shakes his head. “I’m not stressed though. She’s sending me to voicemail. At least I know she’s alive. I’ll go see her soon.”
I dip my chin, feeling a lot more confident.
“We know that whoever this is knows about our past, and right now he’s focusing on Nic,” Mason says, bringing our focus back. “Our main priority is getting my sister and nephew back and keeping them safe. In the meantime, Kaz, I want you to lay eyes on Savannah. I know you don’t like the idea of having her around you, but it may be necessary.”
Kaz grits his teeth. I know he’s not liking the thought of that, but Mason is right. With this asshole out here threatening us, we need everyone we love close to us.
The ache in my chest has me rubbing the area. I need my light back. Everyday Tiffany is away from me is a day I move closer and closer to losing my sanity.
“If this Horseman knows about our time at…..” Salv swallows. It’s been a long time since either of us allowed the name of that hellhole out of our mouths. “That place,” he finally says. “Do you think he knows what we—”
“No.” Mason cuts him off. “Let’s not give the muthafucker more power than he deserves. He didn’t mention it, so we won’t make assumptions. I’ll have Maseo and the crew dig up everyone that was at the home while we were there. More than likely this is one of them.”
I agree with that. The only people who would have known we were ever at that place are the ones that were there with us. Our names and files were wiped clean not long after we left.
Screaming from downstairs has me rolling my eyes and heading in that direction. Walking out of my office, my brothers follow. We line up side by side against the railing on the top floor, peering down to the center of the warehouse. Ghost, Roc and two more of my men along with Grant are all there. Hanging upside down from large metal hooks are the bloody remains of five men. Tied to a chair beside the bodies is the culprit of the sound.
“Aye,” I shout. “Shut the fuck up. Don’t you see my brothers and I are having a business meeting?”
The man tied to the chair shakes as tears stream down his face.
“Please,” he sobs.
I chuckle, placing my elbows on the railing, I lean forward. “All of this goes away, Mike. As soon as you tell me what happened to my guns.”
Mike sniffles as tears pour down his face. “I swear, Saint. I don’t know what happened to the cargo. We showed up to unload your containers, and one was missing.”
I look to my brothers, and they all look at me before turning back to the man tied to the chair.
