“Have you ever heard of this before?”
“No,” I answer calmly. “I’ve already reached out to my druid to see if this is normal. She let me know that this is definitely not an accident. Someone purposely sabotaged my shit.”
Rojun rubs his chin as he scans the room. “This isn’t okay. How long will this portal be out of commission?”
Turning back to the gaping hole in my club, I sigh. “About two weeks to fix the wall and another week or so to rebuild the portal.”
Rojun’s eyes widen. “Three weeks without a portal? Shit, Raz.”
Trust me, I was just as pissed as he was. He runs his hands through his hair before turning to the others in the room.
“Leave us,” he demands.
Conah makes eye contact with me. I nod my head. He turns and walks out of the room, leaving Rojun and I alone.
“You have an enemy.”
“No shit,” I reply.
He holds his hands up in defense. “You need to get ahead of this. Do you have any idea who would pull this stunt?”
Lifting a brow, I stare at Rojun.
“It could be anyone.”
Hell, I had a list of enemies a mile long. Just in the last week I’ve pissed off an angel, a fallen knight, a forsaken duke and a fallen domini. However, the moment I think about it, I feel only one stands out as the most likely culprit.
“Gadiel.”
Rojun folds his arms over his chest. “That would make sense. Three days ago, I issued his punishment for the bullshit he pulled with Khalid. I can see him being pissed.”
“What was the punishment?”
“He’s on leave for a month. I have Togon running his district for the time being.”
Damn, I know Gadiel is pissed about that. Well, if I prove his ass did this shit to my portal he will be on an extended leave.
“I need to speak to him,” I tell Rojun.
Rojun shakes his head. “You need proof to take action.”
“I didn’t say I was going to kill him. I just need to speak to him.”
He tilts his head and raises a brow.
“Okay,” I relent. “I promise I won’t kill him.”
Rojun laughs. “Even if I believed you, I still couldn’t let you confront him without proof. Look, I’m on your side. If you get me concrete evidence that Gadiel is behind this shit.” He points to the hole in my wall. “I’ll strip him of his title so quick; the only job he’ll be able to have on this realm is a got damn busboy.”
I understood where Rojun was coming from. There are protocols and rules that we all must abide by. Plus, even if I confronted Gadiel, it isn’t like he’s going to admit to this shit. No, I needed to find solid evidence.
“I’ll get you your evidence.”
He places a hand on my shoulder. “I know you will. But until then, I have to report this. I’ll let Roth know it’s under investigation.”
I hated this shit. Even though this isn’t on me, it looks bad. It looks as if I can’t handle my district. However, there was no way around it. Rojun bid his farewell, leaving me alone amongst the destruction. Conah appeared at my side.
“Get a crew in here to rebuild this wall. I want this shit done as soon as possible. Let the gate attendees know they will get paid leave.”
