I released the man’s neck just enough so he could speak. Hopefully, he’d just spill everything, so I could be done with this quicker.
When he stopped coughing, he said, “I’ll kill you.”
How original. Never heard that one before.
I thought I’d have to tie Alisa up and toss her into the car. But she’d been surprisingly obliging when I warned her I wouldn’t give her any information if she didn’t come along.
It appeared her self preservation outweighed her hatred for me.
Shockingly, she’d quietly thanked me for saving and helping her. I’d really enjoyed watching the vein pulsing on her neck when she’d said it.
“I don’t usually take women here,” I said with a grin as I opened the heavy metal door to the warehouse.
Granted, I usually took them straight to my bed. She’d been the exception to that rule.
Alisa scowled at me and walked into the dark space. I nodded to one of my waiting men, Ilya, and he took the mobster’s unconscious body out of the trunk.
When I flicked on the lights in the warehouse Alisa’s eyes widened to comical levels. Maybe I should take more girls here.
I certainly had enough chains to entertain myself.
Chapter eight
Alisa
What the hell waswrongwith me?
As much as I hated to admit it, I really needed Dmitri’s help. Although I had a feeling Dmitri would’ve dragged me to his little torture funhouse one way or another.
That wasn’t the issue. Well, itwasin a way. I shouldn’t be so willing to get in a car with the man who’d murdered my brother.
But the most pressing issue was that the expert way Dmitri was tying Igor’s wrists…
Left me soaking wet.
Fuck.
Every time Dmitri looped another knot in the restraints, I kept imagining him doing it to me. And from Dmitri’s growing smirk, he was keenly aware of that.
“I can tie you up next,” Dmitri called across the room in a gravelly voice.
“Fuck you,” I said instinctively.
“I’ve been waiting for you to ask.”
“You’ll be waiting a long time.”
His deep-throated chuckle told me how much he doubted that.
Thankfully, my body’s disturbingly heated reaction was interrupted by Igor thrashing back into consciousness.
Dmitri scowled down at him and fitted the ropes through a metal ring dangling from the ceiling.
“I’m going to kill-” Igor started.
Dmitri pulled harshly on the ropes, and Igor’s body jerked into the air.
“That sounds a little less threatening when you’re in this position,” Dmitri mused, standing back to study his handiwork.
