Wes hands cupped her bottom, squeezing while his mouth skimmed the tops of her breasts.“Are you doubting my ability to get you out of these jeans?”
“Yes, Sheriff, I think I am.”She laughed, as he pulled her bra down to reveal one tight nipple and ran his rough thumb over it.Making the bud even tighter.
“I don’t know who is going to enjoy it more when I prove you wrong while I worship every inch of you.”
She didn’t know how long they spent in his truck, but Wesley not only proved her wrong, but they discovered several new positions she was sure his truck was not intended for.But by the time they made it back to his place, she was ready to experience every other way Wesley could worship her.
CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
Wesley
The One
The sun wasalready up when Wes finally opened his eyes, but his bed was empty. The clock read 8:01 and he couldn’t recall the last time he’d slept so late.He spotted Shelby moving around the kitchen quietly making coffee. If there was one thing he was going to do as sheriff, it was delegate more duties to his deputies. For too long he’d been playing both roles, and now he had a great reason to make sure he worked a more reasonable schedule. He finally understood what his brothers meant when they said they just wanted to spend time with the women in their lives.Everything had shifted now that he had Shelby.
“I have to go get my truck, but can I borrow this T-shirt and maybe a sweatshirt too?”Shelby said as she walked in from the kitchen holding out a fresh cup of coffee to him.
“You can have anything you want,” he said, accepting the cup and taking a gulp. She made it exactly how he liked it.But then he reached out to capture her hand and tried to pull her back into bed.
“Oh no, I can’t.I have a prior engagement.”
“You’re back in town a few days and already have plans?”
She smiled with pride.“I’ve been helping Miranda Sutton out with her horses in exchange for her letting me ride her horses anytime I want.I think we’re friends now.”
“Interesting turn of events.I guess I’m not surprised Miranda would figure out you’re as in love with horses as she is.”
“You know her situation?”
“A little, though I don’t agree with the solution she seems to have settled on.”
“What do you mean?”
“Just that I don’t think she should marry a man almost twice her age to spite her father and to save that ranch.”
“She doesn’t love him then?”
“You know what, I don’t really know. It’s just a guess that it’s more of a financial arrangement than true love.”
“She’s got a lot on her plate—that’s for sure.”
He sat back with his coffee and watched as she braided her long, thick dark hair.
“You can find my T-shirts in the second drawer, and the sweatshirts in the closet.”
“Do you have to work today?”
“Ya, but I’ll cut out early if I can.Yesterday was exhausting.”
He watched as she peeled off her fitted jeans.
“I just realized, I’m going to need you to take me by place after all.I need my work boots and different pants.”
Then she pulled back the covers and found him more than ready for her.“And I think I need to get in a different ride before I go help Miranda.”She straddled his lap, took his mug out of his hands and set it on the nightstand, then pulled off his T-shirt she’d asked to borrow.Kneeling completely naked she hovered over his hips where his hard length jutted upward waiting for her.
He gripped her face and pulled her mouth down to his.“I do not know what I did to deserve a woman like you, but I am going to spend a lot of time convincing you.”
She sunk her hips down, joining their bodies.“Convince me of what, Sheriff?”
