I should be satisfied. That should have been more than enough for one evening.
Maybe it’s the adrenaline or the thrill of it, or perhaps something has finally unlocked within me and can no longer be kept hidden, but I’m not ready to press pause.
I bite my lip, lifting up onto my elbows. “We’re done?”
The three of them gape at me.
Noah quirks an eyebrow. “You want more?”
With a playful giggle that comes out far more coquettish and seductive than I thought myself capable of, I roll onto my stomach and look at them over my shoulder. “Don’t you?”
Hale barks out a laugh, then claps Evan on the shoulder. “I’m going to go warm up dinner.”
I pout as he departs, reaching for his trousers on the way out.
Noah smirks at me, then nods at Evan. “I’d like to watch.”
Evan chuckles. “Alright, then.”
Without warning, he reaches for my ankles, pulling me across the mattress until I’m halfway off the bed. My feet find purchase on the floor as he bends me over the edge of the bed and buries himself inside me in one harsh stroke.
I turn my face into the duvet to muffle my moan. But Noah comes to sit next to me and wraps my hair around his fist, tugging upwards to pull my face off the bed.
“Don’t you want Hale to be able to hear you from the kitchen?” he asks.
Evan shifts his stance slightly, angling deeper. I make a half-groan, half-shout sound. Evan gathers our combined slickness, trailing his fingers backward toward my asshole. He circles my tight entrance slowly—teasing, testing.
“Relax for me, baby,” he whispers, lips against my ear. “Just a little. Tell me if it’s too much.”
I nod, pushing back instinctively. He presses one finger in—slow, steady—until I’m clenching around the intrusion, the fullness overwhelming in the best way.
“Good girl,” he praises, voice rough. “Taking me everywhere.”
Noah’s grip tightens in my hair. “Fuck, that’s hot. You’re incredible, Lila.”
“Just. Like. That,” gasps Evan.
Noah smiles at me, keeping a firm grip on my hair.
“Oh, Lila, love,” he murmurs. “We’re going to have so much fun with you.”
Chapter twenty-nine
Chapter Twenty-Nine: Evan
I’ve responded to fires that have consumed five stories of a building. I’ve suited up and crawled through the aftermath of a collapsed ceiling to perform CPR right there in the rubble. I’ve run toward things that most people sprint away from.
Yet, somehow, nothing compares to this moment.
A month has passed since I officially entered into this impossibly amazing relationship, and even though I’m thoroughly satisfied in more ways than one, I’ve also struggled to fully enjoy myself with the stress of this impending day glaring on the horizon.
Now, here I am.
Family Court, Manhattan. Second floor of an intimidating building that hails from the Gilded Age, yet somehownow features the same beige walls, glaring fluorescents, and industrial carpets that most government buildings subscribe to.
I keep my hands clenched around the folder in my lap, full of pictures of Leo, school report cards, medical forms, and all other proof that I have been his primary caretaker for more than half of his life.
Somewhere in the seats behind me, Lila sits with a straight back and a determined gaze, reminding me with her mere presence that I will never have to face this alone. Hale is beside her, dressed in formal FDNY regalia, and Noah sits on her other side, casual but tidy. He’s on call this afternoon, so he has special permission to rush out of the room if he’s needed elsewhere. Still, I know that he believesthisis where he’s needed most.
