I glanced down when an arm went around my waist. El stood there with Mani, who had a blanket wrapped around her. “A white Christmas?” El asked.

I shrugged. “We will have to see.” I was looking at my baby play with the adults and glanced down at El. “My baby needs someone her age to play with. That old ass nigga tired already,” I said disappointedly as we watched Titus tell Pea he needed a break. I cupped my hands around my mouth and yelled out, “Get in the gym, nigga! My baby running circles around your tired ass.” He flipped me off before resting his hands on his hips as he heaved, trying to catch his breath.

She giggled. “She just might sooner than you think,” she implied, making me freeze.

“Don’t play with me, El. What you tryna say? ’Cause I saw you drinking wine.” I frowned, which only made her laugh.

She shook her head. “No, you saw me drinking sparkling cider. I was waiting to tell you later, but yes, baby number two is officially loading,” she whispered with tears in her eyes.

I snatched her up so quickly and hugged her to my body. It didn’t take everybody long to catch on to the reason for my excitement. I had high hopes for a white Christmas now. I had missed El’s pregnancy with Pea and couldn’t wait to go through the process with her this time.

I pulled her into me and placed my forehead on hers. “You know I got you, right?”

She nodded. “Without a doubt in my mind.”

I smiled. “Good, because I can’t do this life without you.”

She palmed my cheeks, then inched closer until her lips were resting against mine. “Oh, you won’t have to. You’re stuck with me until the casket closes.”

“Even then, I’ma be stuck ’cause they gonna have to put me in there with you.”

She whacked me on the arm, making me laugh. I tossed an arm around her shoulders as we all headed back inside the house to eat and celebrate the new addition to the family.

A few months later. . .

“Babe, can you look up when Scott becomes the alpha?” El asked as the finale for season one ofTeen Wolfended.

I glanced down at her cuddled up against my body. “As many times as you’ve watched this show, you don’t know when he becomes the alpha?”

She shook her head, then sat up to rest her chin on my stomach. “No, I don’t remember. That’s what I want to see though.”

I chuckled. “Aight, man. That’s cheating, by the way.”

She shrugged. “I don’t care, and not technically, because I’ve seen this before.”

“All the more reason you should remember what happens next,” I teased.

She pushed me gently. “No, it be too much going on with this show.” She giggled innocently. “I remember bits and pieces of what happens, and one of the things I know for sure is Scott becomes a true alpha.”

Picking up my phone, I looked up the information El wanted. I chuckled, knowing she wasn’t going to like the answer. “It’s not until season three, babe.”

She groaned, just as I expected. “Oh my God. That’s a whole season away.”

I chuckled, and we spoke at the same time. “You’re still going to watch it,” I said.

“I’m still going to watch it,” she declared at the same time.

We burst into laughter because I knew this girl like the back of my hand. She’d been watching this show since we were in high school. I specifically remembered days she would come into class looking like a zombie, and she’d tell me she stayed up late watchingTeen Wolf.

“I bet if your ass could become a werewolf, you would.”

She nodded before straddling me. “Oh, without a doubt. You gotta know that.”

My eyes floated down to her bulging belly. She was a week away from her third trimester, and her stomach was finally poking like two basketballs. I never missed an appointment or a chance to admire the way her body was stretching to bring new life into the world.

Out of nowhere, her stomach growled loudly. I gave her a weird look, making her punch me in the arm. “Ow, what was that for?” I laughed while rubbing the spot she punched as if it really hurt.

“You judging me?” she asked with a raised eyebrow.
