I nodded. “You’re so right. Let’s plan a date, just me and you. How’s that sound?”

“Like we should just go get lemon drops right now.”

I giggled then nodded. “Alright, let’s go get lemon drops then. I’m done for the day anyway.”

By the time I got home, I was good and tipsy. It was something so fun and scandalous about day drinking. The sun wasn’t even down, yet here I was, two-stepping into the house. After letting myself in, I stumbled straight to the bedroom and nosedived into the covers. I didn’t think I even tucked myself in before I was snoring lightly.

I didn’t wake up until I felt soft kisses on my shoulder that made me moan. I almost thought it was a dream until his woodsy scent made its way into my consciousness. I smiled before my eyes even came open.

“Aww, baby,” I said when I saw Perfect standing there with a huge bouquet of roses. When I sat up, I noticed there were plenty more all over the bed. “What’s this?” I giggled, trying not to cry like a big baby.

He bent over, puckering his lips. Of course, I obliged. His lips were my favorite. “You said you needed a hundred roses and a trip to the spa, didn’t you?”

I frowned until it dawned on me what he was talking about me. “Stay stalking me on social media.” He shrugged nonchalantly. “Wait. Does that mean you booked me an appointment at the spa?”

He held a hand out for me. I placed mine in his, and he snatched me up into his chest. I melted into his frame when his strong arms wrapped around me. “Yes, I did. Go get ready.”

I jumped into his arms and hugged him tightly. “Oh my God. Thank you, thank you, thank you, baby!”

He pecked me on the lips. “Anything for you, Princess.” He let me down, then popped me on the ass. “Go get ready.”

He didn’t have to tell me twice as I booked it to the bathroom to freshen up. Halfway through getting ready, I remembered Precious. “What about Pea?” I questioned, popping my head into the room.

“She’s with your parents for the night, bae.”

I didn’t know why I even questioned her whereabouts. From the moment Perfect found out about her, he locked in on his role as a father. I loved to witness it, and honestly, I would give him another one, just to watch him excel at his role.

When I was finished getting ready, I went back into the room and changed into a cute cheetah-print two-piece set. It felt so good to not be all made up without a hair out of place. Today, I was going to enjoy every second of relaxation offered to me in my natural state.

“Okay, I’m ready,” I told Perfect after drowning myself in perfume. I yelped when he scooped me up in his arms. Giggling, I asked him, “What are you doing?”

“You are not lifting a finger today. I know you’re exhausted, so expect me to wait on you hand and foot.”

I couldn’t help but stare at his face because this was what love really looked and felt like. I palmed his cheek and sighed. “What did I do to deserve you?”

He glanced down at me and smiled. “You saw me when I had nothing and still thought I was perfect.”

“Because you are.” I returned his smile. “Always have been; always will be.”

“Type shit,” he replied as we got to the front door. I laughed as he tried to open it while keeping me in his arms.

“Bae, you can let me down to open the door.”

He frowned down at me. “No, I can’t. Be quiet. I got this.” And sure enough, he did. He carried me out to his truck, then went back to lock up the house. The entire time he drove to the spa, he kept my hand in his, and I couldn’t help but sink into the peace he offered me.

I guess it was true when they said that when a man knew, he just knew. When I offered my home to Perfect, I never expected us to be here, especially not after he disappeared on me for three years. But he found his way into my heart and was determined to never leave again. I was enjoying his efforts and reaping the benefits of his love. I swear, my skin was glowing, my hair was growing, my ass was fatter, and I was more profitable than ever before. Finding love had everything in my life thriving for the better.

When we got to the spa, Port kept up his chivalry and carried me inside. I couldn’t lie like I wasn’t loving being adored on. No man had ever put in the effort Perfect did. Even when he had nothing, his presence was a gift just with him doing things liketaking out the trash or mowing my lawn. He thought I wouldn’t be for him when the characteristics he possessed went beyond the money he had. I mean, it was an added bonus that he went and ran up a bag, but to know that at his core he was a genuinely good man was enough for me.

We were led to the locker rooms, where we were instructed to undress and put on our robes. I was so excited that I stripped within seconds and was outside the door, waiting for Port to come out the other side.

I held my arms open, and he laughed before scooping me up in his arms once again. It was easily my favorite place to be. For the entire walk, my head rested on his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. I missed his warmth immediately when he lay me on the massage table. I whined, “I want to stay next to you.”

He chuckled. “How are you supposed to do that and get your massage, Princess?”

“Climb on top of me and give me the massage yourself.”

He raised an eyebrow at me. “Princess, . . . I want to do more than massage your body.”
