“Mula or LaLa. Feel free to call me either or. And you are?” she countered.

“My wife,” Bentley interjected. He wasn’t going to let me answer anytime that question was asked. It made me blush uncontrollably. I couldn’t hide it if I tried.

Slapping my hand across his chest, I corrected him by saying, “It’s Heidi. Nice to meet you Mula.”

“Same. I’ll have to chop it up with you when this mean one isn’t around. Until then, remember, you hold the carrot. Make him chase you,” she advised throwing a wink directly after. “Okay, back to business. Bentley, Catalina called earlier and is flying in to attend this shindig. How you want to handle that?”

“Just hit me when she get here. The only people allowed up here is her, Kong and his folk, and Qwan and his. I ain’t with nothing extra. Everybody else hit floor one and two,” he ordered.

“Yes sir. What are y’all sipping on? I’ll have one of the ladies bring it up,” she asked grabbing her iPad.

He looked to me waiting for an answer. He was putting me in charge tonight and I applauded him for that. A man that let his woman have a choice. “Don is fine. Whether its reposado or blanco, it makes no difference.”

“Sure thing. Y’all have fun. If needed, boss man you know where to find me.” She extended her hand in my direction and said, “Nice meeting you again, Heidi. Hopefully, I’ll see more of you.”

“You will, trust me,” I replied.

We walked out the same door we entered heading over to the sections. The last time I was here, I was so uncomfortable. There was way too many people in attendance and the men were too creeped out. I didn’t want to be anywhere around that. Now that this was a more intimate setting, I could relax a bit and enjoy myself. Also, this man wasn’t going to let a thing happen to me. I had real faith behind that.

The section we settled in was in the middle of the horseshoe allowing us to see every single thing. I loved the seclusion he had going on. He was showing me a life outside of Sage Springs and Royce freakin’ Atkins.

For so long, I’d been dependent on my best friend. He provided the money, the support, the protection, and the family. I was loved by the Atkins and no one considered me anything less than family. When I was at my worst, he came through with nonstop comfort. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for me. He provided everything except he did it as a friend.

My gravitation toward Bentley was simply because he was doing it as a partner, a lover, a man of certainty and interest. I may have asked him to slow down but there was no slowing down when it came to Atkins men. They were all spoiled and whatever they wanted, they got. I had no objections for this man.

I stood at the railing looking down at the semi small crowd. It was growing by the minute. I was eager to see my girl and justenjoy the night. I missed Ni something serious. She was the one female I knew for sure had my back outside of family.

With my phone vibrating in my clutch, I removed it to see who was trying to contact me. Seeing that it was Niyani calling, I answered with, “It’s your favorite big booty bitch speaking.”

She laughed at my greeting and came back saying, “That butt is as little as it want to be. It do be moving though. Any who, where you at bitch, me and Qwan just got here.”

“Bentley and I are upstairs on the third floor. Maybe you should’ve got us a section the last time and I would’ve stayed.”

“I doubt it. Section or not, you wasn’t feeling it, and it’s nothing wrong with that friend. I’m walking through the door now. I’ll see you up there in a minute.” She hung up before I could say anything else.

I shot a quick text telling her to stop at the bar, and I’d come down to get them instead. She replied okay, and I tucked my phone back into my clutch.

Cornering me in, he grabbed a hold to the railing on each side of me. His canvas rested against mine sending a warm sensation coursing through me. One would’ve thought I’d grown used to his touch, but it still caused my body to tingle. I didn’t know how to explain to this man that looking at me caused my faucet to leak but touching me… touching me easily made me cum. I liked the physical connection between us because it was natural. He wasn’t rushing which made this encounter hit different.

“This too much for you?” he questioned.

“Why would this be too much for me love?”

“The night of my party, you told Niyani you don’t do crowds. I’m just checking to make sure you straight,” he spoke against my ear.

You remember that?

That night I refused to sit and do anything surrounded by men that couldn’t keep their hands to themselves. That was alsothe point of my life where I cringed at everything a man said or did. I would’ve been no good to Bentley. I needed to heal and find me again before allowing his charm to really charm a bitch.

“I’m good love. Niyani and Qwan just arrived. I’m about to head down and get them. Will you be alright without me?” I teased.

“Hell nah, but I’ll make do. Go ‘head and get yo’ peeps. I ain’t going nowhere,” he assured me. I reached up and caressed the side of his face. I’d grown to like the way his skin felt against mine.

Pecking the side of my face, my heart raced. I couldn’t help but smile and feel safe with him. He’d chased away every doubt I formed and showed public affection. He wasn’t hiding me or playing it safe. He was going all out, and I had to respect that. I was who this man wanted.

He stepped back and allowed me to handle my business. I could feel his eyes on my backside as I walked away. I blushed for the umpteenth time behind his flirtatious ways. If I wasn’t careful, this man was going to have me accepting his name before it was time.

Approaching Maxx, I gave another wave, and he acknowledged it with a nod. “I’m going down to get the guests of the hour. I’ll be right back.”
