She shrugs. “It’s okay. Can we go to your house? I want to see him.”

“Will you stay the night?” I ask hopefully.

It takes a moment, but she nods. “Yes. I have to pack some things though.”

“Part of me wants to tell you to pack everything, but I know you’re not ready for that, yet,” I say wistfully.

Hannah pauses as if she’s fully considering it, thenreplies, “I’m not. Maybe soon though. I mean, we did live together for six weeks already.”

“We did,” I confirm. Hannah stands from the couch, and I follow, pulling her into my arms for a quick kiss.

“Slow,” she mutters against my lips.

“Ish. Slow-ish.”

Hannah pulls away with another laugh, heading into her bedroom.

THOMAS

“Time to wake up, baby,” I whisper, kissing down Hannah’s neck.

“Ten more minutes,” she whimpers.

“I already gave you ten more minutes,” I reply with a laugh. “We have to get going. Brunch starts in forty minutes.”

Her body tenses.

“I’ll be with you the whole time, freckles.”

“I know you will. I shouldn’t be nervous, I’ve met all of them before.”

“You have, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be nervous. I get it.”

Hannah sits up in bed, covering her body with the sheet. Since the day after we got home, she’s been in my bed every night. I know she said she wasn’t going to move in, but I’m not going to complain about her being here every night. I love it.

“Come on, freckles. You should wear one of those sundresses,” I say with a wink.

“All of the ones I have here are dirty, Thomas. And we don’t have time to stop by my apartment. Oh god, we should have gone to my house yesterday. I don’t have anything to wear but leggings and a stained tank top!”

“Breathe, baby,” I chuckle, standing from the bed. I stride over to her, pulling her into my arms. “We have plenty of time to go to your apartment quick. It’s no biggie. I can be ready in five minutes.”

She takes a quick breath. “Okay fine, but we have to go fast. I can braid my hair on the way to my place.”

“Deal.” I pull away, only far enough to peck her on the lips before grabbing some clothes and darting into the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair.

Ten minutes later, we are in the car heading to Hannah’s apartment. I decided to leave Arson at home since there will be a lot happening today. It’s Cooper’s first Sunday brunch too. It’s a big day in the Cunningham family.

We pull up to Hannah’s apartment and she starts climbing out. “I’ll be back in like ten minutes, okay?” she says.

Ignoring her, I climb out.

“What are you doing?” she questions.

“Coming in,” I say.

“Why?”
