“Here she comes. Get the door open. Step back. Five paces at least.”
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. What in the hell have you signed me up for, Drake? The intel said silence from here on in.”
“Yep. Don’t speak to her. Don’t look at her. And for fuck’s sake, don’t touch her.”
“Christ on a cracker. I would have worn my other suit if I’d known she was this bad. Made a worse impression.”
“You don’t have a different suit, Mister Ex Secret Service Agent.”
“Fuck off. You’ve got your own scars. I walked away from this shit years ago for a reason.”
“And yet you’re here with me, now.”
Because a woman shouldn't receive the sort of threats she has.
“Stop whining and get in the limo. Face the glass. When you get out at the destination, face away from her.”
“Yeah, that’s how I’ll do my job. Not looking at the woman I’m meant to protect.”
“Shut up, and listen to me. Tonight, leave her the hell alone. She needs silence until tomorrow. She’ll never speak to you, so don’t expect to make friends."
Fucking joy.“Adora sounds…particular.”
“Ha. You mean fussy.”
Not my kind of asset.“I mean particular.” There’s always a story. But I'll probably never hear hers.
“Thirty seconds, gentlemen.”
“Thanks, Athena.”
“She’s a decent manager.”
“The best.”
“Twenty seconds.”
This is overkill.
“Ten seconds.”
“Move back. Back!”
“And…door.”
“Christ. Get that fucking light off!”
“I told you not to talk to her!”
“That light is going to– get down.FUCK!”
“That was a shot! Who’s on Adora?”
“N–”
