“That’s his fated mate. I should have never overstepped my boundaries. As pack members, it is our job to support the pack.”

“Fucking brainwashed idiot. All that pack shit is nothing but bullshit. They want us to be their servants while they get to live the high life with Fate favoring them. We get fed breadcrumbs. I refuse to live that life. I deserve better. I deserve power with those brothers groveling at my feet… I want Delcan to personally be forced to serve me!” Blossom yelled as she began pacing back and forth.

“You’re still mad because Delcan rejected you?” Bellum asked with compassion in her voice. “India is his fated mate. I know it’s hard to accept it, but when you find your fated mate, it will all make sense. I can admit I felt betrayed when Zamiyah first came, but once I found Kenzo, I understood everything. The love from your mate is indescribable. They’re your other half, and nothing can ever compare to that love.”

Blossom let out a loud, boisterous laugh. “You get dumber and dumber every time you open your mouth. India isn’t his fated mate. She doesn’t even like Delcan. She's there to keep him distracted until we can find that purple-eyed bitch. Besides, I found someone stronger and better than Delcan. The Tsar is far better than Delcan could ever be. I guess a?—”

Bellum letting out a gasp cut Blossom off from her speech. “How could you betray our pack after they took us in? Accepted us when our own pack and many others wouldn’t allow us to step foot in their territory because of what our aunt did. Blossom, you have to tell our Alphas what is going on. This isn’t right,” Bellum pleaded, sounding like her voice was cracking.

“Fuck them. They’ll be dead soon,” Blossom said uncaringly.

“I’m going to tell them,” Bellum confidently replied.

“You aren’t. You can’t. You can’t even keep your own fated mate. All I have to do is put you in a room full of dicks, and you’ll be preoccupied forever,” Blossom taunted Bellum while leering directly in her face.

Feeling our mate’s fear was pissing us off. There was only so much more we would be able to handle before we interfered.

“You’re wrong about me. All those things about me may have been true in the past. I was that wolf. After seeing the pain I caused my mate today, I vowed to never hurt him again. I love Kenzo, and I don’t deserve him, but Fate decided I was worthy enough to have him. I’m going to do everything in my power to prove my worthiness to him. You can hold onto all the hateand be fooled by whoever is feeding you lies. I refuse to live like that.”

“You’d rather be a slave to Fate?”

“I’d rather be free with Fate and the love of my mate.”

“You keep speaking on this mate, but where is he? He didn’t hesitate to kick you to the curb. You’re loyal to him, but he’s nowhere around you!” Blossom said with her arms extended outward as she screamed.

Shifting, I stood to my full height. “I’m right here,” I said, startling both of them. “And I’m sorry for making you leave. I love you, Bellum, and we're going to get through this.” Bellum looked at me with so much love and adoration, if I wasn’t able to feel her feelings, her eyes would have told me everything she felt.

“Kenzo,” Bellum said as I took off in a full sprint toward her. A look of confusion filled her face, then nothing as I watched in despair as her head snapped to the side in an ungodly manner.

“Bellllluuum!!!” I screamed, my heart filling with pain while watching her body limply fall. Using all my might, I caught her body before it could hit the ground. While cradling her in my arms and staring down at her lifeless eyes, my heart broke.

“Helloo.”

Hearing the sweet voice that sounded like music to our ears brought me back from Bellum’s lifeless eyes to the eyes full of life in front of me. She looked around one more time, then took her wagon and hurried in the opposite direction of me.

Of course, we followed her. We couldn’tnotfollow her. I was sure my bear would have lost his mind if I tried to do anything but follow her. Not that I would want to do anything else. Wecould smell her arousal, the sweet smell of her pussy dripping, apparently, for no reason, but I hoped we were the reason. Just knowing our mate’s pussy was slick and we weren’t there to relieve her aching pussy sent an uncontrollable desire to possess her through me.

It was a feeling I had longed for when Bellum was around. We loved her because Bellum was given to us by Fate, but there was a longing that wasn’t there. Bellum was tolerated because of who she was to us. This woman in front of us, we wanted to possess as our own, to lock her away from the world and keep her to ourselves. Her beauty captivated us to the point that we could sit and stare at her for hours and hours. Her voice was the key to our hearts. Just to hear her speak, we would give her everything. She was everything, but in the same breath, she had us second guessing everything we thought we knew.

I was no fool. I knew what we were feeling. She was ours. Without a doubt, she was our mate. My bear wanted to leap out these bushes and fuck her against a tree until she begged us to claim her. He was on edge from losing Bellum before we got to mark her. He didn’t care about all the details. He just knew she was our mate, and he wanted her to wear our mark before the sunset.

My human was just as eager but needed answers. How did we have another fated mate when we held our mate in our arms as she died? There was no way possible for us to have another fated mate. It was unheard of. Sure, some shifters would be with others after their mates passed, but it wasn’t the same. The undying love wasn’t there, nor was the intense need to be in or around them. From my understanding, the sex wasn’t as good either.

However, this female we were following was ours. Yet we couldn’t understand why. Did Bellum fake her death to escape us? Did she not want to be mated? Was she with another? No, Iwould have been able to smell another shifter’s scent mixed with hers. Maybe she couldn’t remember anything from the impact of her neck being snapped. No, having your neck snapped was one of the few ways to kill a shifter. The way Bellum’s neck was twisted, there was no way she survived that. Then who the hell was this female we were following?

The longer we followed her, the more her scent enticed us. While watching the natural sway of her meaty hips as she walked and seeing her ass jiggle with each step, saliva filled our mouth as her scent filled our nose. We wanted nothing more than to devour her sweet pussy right now, to hear her sweet voice call our name while she begged us to free her until she released her sweet juices in our mouth.

A growl left my mouth louder than I expected, causing our mate to whip around. She couldn’t see me. I blended in with the forest too well. Fate gifted my family’s bloodline with the ability to blend in anywhere we went. Our fur was jet black, but in the eyes of humans and shifters, it appeared to blend into whatever environment we were in. Fate blessed us with a natural camouflage that even the chameleon shifters envied.

When she whipped around, her skirt moved up, giving me a glimpse of her bare round ass. Jealousy filled our bodies. Why would our mate wear a skirt this short? I shouldn’t have been surprised since Bellum had always dressed promiscuously, something else we bumped heads about. Bellum didn’t understand the provocative clothes she wore made my bear and human more territorial over her. It put us on edge because we were constantly looking to see if other male shifters were looking at her. My bear was always filled with agitation when we went places with Bellum, not the usual pride a fated mate should have had when they were with their mate. Whether this was Bellum or another mate fate had given us, things were going to be different. Walking around half naked wasn’t going to happen again. Thistime around, Bellum or our mate was going to submit to us. She was going to be different. I refused to lose my mate again, and if that meant I had to give into my possessive nature, then so be it.

We followed her to the edge of Hollow Valley’s city center. Aggravation filled my veins because I didn’t have clothes so I could shift back into my human form. I mean, I could go into town naked, but the humans would probably act like they’d never seen a naked shifter before. It was actually annoying how sensitive humans were to natural things such as being naked. Shifters didn’t care about being naked around each other. We treated it as if we were fully clothed, but humans made everything perverse. I had to stay in the forest to wait for our mate to return on her trip home. We were tempted to go back to her cabin to wait on her just to be able to inhale her scent. It was an intoxicating smell that my bear and human both loved. Fucking humans… I groaned, annoyed because I couldn’t follow her.

“I never took you as a quitter,” a snarky voice came from behind me.

Turning around, I looked into the eyes of a short woman. She was maybe four-foot-nine inches, too tall to be a fairy or a pixie but not tall enough to be a shifter. Yet you could feel the power rolling off her body.

“I’ve never been a quitter,”I mindspoke, figuring the power radiating off her meant she would be able to hear me.
