“Tsar,” Alonzo grunted out in disdain.

“Then why do you try to insult me like I’m a fucking basic shifter? I am your god.”

“Fate is who I serve.” Alonzo sounded more confident in his words.

“Fucking fool,” the deep voice said. Then Alonzo let out a wail that shook my core to the bones. More tears blurred my vision. My fiancé was killed by a shifter. In that moment, hatred for shifters filled my heart.

“Where the fuck is she?!” The Tsar roared out, scaring me, and I could hear other frantic movements that sounded like slithering and other light steps that couldn’t have been human. I couldn't understand why shifters would’ve been looking for me. I never went around them or willingly had any contact with them. They had to have me mistaken for someone else.

“Calm down. He probably got the ring on her and sent her on her way. No need to rile yourself up,” a feminine voice that sounded faintly familiar spoke. The woman the voice belonged to sounded unbothered by the entire situation. “Besides, as long as we have Bellum to corrupt their mate, we don’t have toworry about her. There are more important things for you to be worried about. Like your pesky mate and your pup.”

“You’re right, but if her scent pops back up, I want her dead. You two stay here and see if she comes back here. “

“Yesss, sssir,” I heard two voices speak with extra emphasis on their s’s.

“Let’s go, my queen,” I heard the deep voice command, the words followed by heavy footsteps.

Looking down at my ring, I vowed to get revenge for Alonzo. With every breath I took, I would hate shifters.

“You can’t hate who you are,” a voice that wasn’t part of my dream spoke to me as it did every time I got to this point in my dream.

The memory quickly turned into blackness, and I found myself surrounded by nothing. A light I had grown familiar with came closer and closer to me… Teeny. She’d been coming to me for the last year since Alonzo was killed. I didn’t know what to call her. Maybe she was my guardian angel because Teeny always came to me when I needed help. When I arrived at Alonzo’s cabin, I had nothing, no food or clothes with no way to survive. I was dead meat, but then Teeny came to me in my grief, showing me the way to survive. For that, I would always appreciate Teeny; however, she lost me when she got to talking her shifter mumbo jumbo. I hated them; they took everything I had and loved. I promised I would get my revenge on the Tsar.

“Hate him. He is evil, but you must learn to love yourself to truly understand who you are.” Teeny’s beautiful face came to me. She always had a warm smile on her face.

“I do love myself,” I adamantly replied to her.

“You barely know who you are. Foolish child.” Teeny lightly laughed, and it aggravated me.

“If you know so much, why don’t you just tell me?”

“I could… but you would never listen. You are hardheaded as they come, but that comes from your lack of control over your wolf. She has control over a lot of your emotions because you refuse to listen to her.”

“I do listen.” I frowned at Teeny, who wore a knowing expression.

“Not to that voice. You know you shouldn’t listen to that voice.” Teeny frowned at me as she did when I brought up the other darker voice that spoke to me.

“But I’m supposed to listen to a fake wolf who is supposed to live inside of me?” I sarcastically asked.

“Why listen to something that causes you fear? Do I make you scared?”

“No, but that voice keeps me safe.”

“It keeps you hidden from the one who needs to find you.”

“I don’t need to be found by anyone.”

“Lucky for you, Fate knows what we really need. He’s coming for you soon.”

“That sounds like a threat,” I fearfully noted.

With a smirk, Teeny responded. “If I know you like I do, it’s going to be a long road for you, but he’ll take care of you.”

“If it’s not Alonzo, I don’t want them.” I folded my arms across my chest, meaning every word I said.

“Please, don’t ever say that in front of him. He won’t take it well.”

“Too bad for him because I mean it.”
