“Bellamy, you're something else.” I chuckled at my delusional mate who hadn’t made any attempt to leave my arms.
“And so are you,” Bellamy smartly replied. “Is Roselee still here?” A sense of urgency took over her body as she became antsy in our hold while trying to look past us into the house.
“Yeah, she’s in there. Come on.” We nodded toward the door then followed behind Creeland and Halo.
We walked back into the living room where mostly everyone was seated in various places. Delcan was in his reclining chair. Yves, with Zamiyah on his lap, was seated on the large u-shaped sectional to the left. Alexander’s hulking frame was seated in the middle with Amaree tucked under his arms and Roselee to the far right of the sectional. Roselee hadn’t taken her eyes from Bellamy since we’d come in the room. I wasn’t sure whether Bellamy was nervous or what, but she’d kept her head buried in my chest.
“Where is Naiobi?” Halo asked after speaking to everyone.
“She’s fixing the pups a snack,” Amaree answered sweetly. For her to have been the mate of an Alpha, she was always a sweet and humble shifter. I’d seen many female shifters let the power of their mate’s status go to their heads. It was nice seeing something different. Amaree stood up and walked over to Halo. “Give her here. I’ll get A’Miracle situated so we can get the ball rolling.”
“I got it,” Tiny replied, stopping Amaree from getting A’Miracle. “Everyone needs to be here,” Tiny said as she grabbed A’Miracle before disappearing out of the room.
“I swear I can’t stand that appearing outta nowhere shit. They need a bell around their necks or something,” Cree said, looking annoyed.
“Stay on my good side, Creeland.” Minnie appeared on the opposite side of the room with a warning in her eyes.
“My bad, Big M,” Cree nervously replied.
“Tiny is going to sit with the kids. Now what did I miss?” Naiobi asked as she came back into the room and made her way over to Declan.
“Where do we start? Well, Bellum has a doppelganger or she’s faking who she is.” Zamiyah was the first one to speak. Her eyes were glued to Bellamy.
“Let me down please,” Bellamy asked nicely, but there was fire in her eyes, and I couldn’t blame her.
I understood Zamiyah frustrations when it came to Yves fucking Bellum. I didn’t like the shit either. Barely could stand his pretty boy ass when Bellum was still alive. Once we told Zamiyah Bellamy wasn’t Bellum, her hostility should have left. Zamiyah had always been nice to me, but that wasn’t going to give her a pass if she kept disrespecting my mate. After gently placing Bellamy on the floor, I stole a kiss from her before she turned around, facing Zamiyah.
“For the last time, my name is Bellamy Rose. I don’t care about whatever beef you have going on with Bellum, but leave me out of it.” Bellamy and Zamiyah had an intense stare down, neither of them wanting to back down.
“They always say if it looks like a hoe, acts like a hoe, must be a hoe,” Zamiyah replied with a darkness to her voice that hadn’t been there before.
“I could never be a hoe. You little miserable bitch. A dick has never been inside of me, and the only dick that is going to be inside of me is his,” Bellamy said before pointing her finger back at me. The smile that spread across our face couldn’t be hidden. Our pride was beaming through the roof to the point we didn’t care about anything other than sticking our dick inside of Bellamy.
“Okay, everyone. Let's calm down and let me explain what is going on before things get out of hand.” Roselee stood to her feet looking around the room at everyone.
“I know you’re my mom, but I don’t understand how when the woman who was supposed to be my mom died in a fire.”
“That was Venus. She was my sister through Fate, as Ferrin was too,” Roselee said as she reached back and pulled her hair from the bun it was in, revealing streaks of milky white hair mixed in with her black hair. “I am a Grandeur Mage,” Roselee said, and her arms started to glow white as different markings and symbols began appearing on her arms.
“What the hell…” Yves said as he stared at Roselee in amazement. “I thought all the Grandeur Mages were dead! I mean, aside from Halo.”
“There are a few of us left. The ones who didn’t abuse the gifts Fate had given us. The rest were killed by their greed. Everyone other than Ferrin. She wasn’t led by greed. My sister let envy into her heart, and it corrupted her.”
“So, wait... you're my aunt?” Halo asked while throwing her hip to the side and placing her hand on it.
“No, not in the sense you're thinking. Ferrin was my best friend. Our mothers were best friends, and you and Bellamy became best friends. With both our families being a part of the Grandeur Blood, it only made Ferrin and me closer. We did everything together. It seemed our destinies were purposely intertwined. Even our fated mates were best friends. Byron—your father, Halo—and Brice, my mate, grew up together. You two were born three days apart.”
“So, why don’t we remember each other?” Halo questioned.
“We had to block your memories to keep the both of you safe. You two were so close, we didn’t think you’d be able to handle being away from each other. You used to only be able to shift whenever Halo shifted,” Roselee said while looking at Bellamy.
“I’ve never been able to shift,” Halo corrected Roselee.
“Trust me. Before what happened with your mom and dad, you were able to shift.”
“Sooo, when and how are we supposed to get our memories back?” Bellamy asked with her arms folded across her chest. We could feel the uncertainty that she was trying to mask with an attitude.
“Ummm…” Roselee turned to Minnie for an answer.
