“I maybe an undercover agent for both the DEA and ATF, and stupid when it comes to drugs, but I would bet those bags left are ICE.”
Cass nodded as he took a sample and looked at him.“You’re right.ICE, crystal meth, meth, all the same street name, but it’s all the same components.”He finished testing everything, and then leaned against the bench with his hips and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Gentlemen, the amount of drugs here are an automatic felony, plus, because of the way they are bagged, it screams with intent to sell, another felony.Do you know if he has any charges against him already?”
“Yes, a federal felony charge of possession with intent to sell, and another one with failure to appear.”
“Perfect, I can go back to my office and draw up other charges, also federal, and we can go after him.Do you have any idea as to how to get in touch with him?”
“No, I do know that he’s trying to strike for either the Iron Men, the Vultures, or the Bastards.I talked to the presidents of those clubs and they all agreed that he would never be above the wannabe stage for their clubs. They also said that he’s trying to strike for all three clubs, but no one is giving him the opportunity, let alone the time of day.”
“Perfect,” Cass said with a grin, which caused Paul to shiver. He held up a finger and walked over to where several files were laid out on the other side of the room.He came back with Eddie Brickman’s driver’s license.“Don’t ask, don’t tell, but this is current.”
Cass took it with a grin.“Again, perfect. You going anywhere in the next couple of days?”
“We’re going to check out the Toys for Tots run Petra mentioned earlier.”
“That’s next month,” Petra said quickly.
“Okay, then do you have body cameras?”
“We do, we haven’t used them yet, but we do.”
“Good, use them on that run.I’ll look into it, but I assure you that Eddie Brickman will be arrested and sitting in jail by the time that run happens.”
Everyone nodded, and after Paul offered to make coffee for everyone, Cass started showing both Petra and Paul how to use the equipment.By the time they knew the basics, it was time for them to leave, but Paul offered them a room in the basement of his house. The three of them spent the night, talked well after midnight, and after breakfast the next day, made to leave.
The next morning, as they were getting ready to leave, Cass looked at Paul from the seat of his bike.“Remember I’m a good two and a half to three hours away from you.If you need me in an emergency, I’ll try to help, but otherwise, expect me to arrive three hours after your call.”
“I understand, and I’ll try not to make a habit of calling you. However, I do like that fact that you are only a phone call away if I need something in a pinch. Also, I’m pretty good at holding my own, but the thought of you coming to the rescue eases the mind.”
“I wish you luck, and again, I’ll go back to my office, draw up the warrants, and we’ll put a team together to arrest Brickman.”
“Thank you,” Paul shook his hand, and he stepped back to stand beside Petra and watched them leave.
After they cleared the road and they could hear the bikes out on the highway, Petra turned to him with a frown.
“What is it?”
“Did they take the notebook?”
“Nope, only the drugs and cash.Cass said he’ll run the serial numbers from the money.I do have them written down though, and I still have the notebook.”
“Good,” she said as she turned and headed back toward the house to finish cleaning up and get ready to head to the diner for her shift.
